As part of an returning series, we’ll be reviewing some of the various takeaway outlets across Merseyside.
We’ll be looking at all aspects of the experience including price and of course, how the food measures up. The takeaways do not know we are ordering so the review is completely independent.
This week travelled to Hoylake in Wirral to try Three Dollar Bill Pizza. The restaurant comes from the team behind Burger Joe, which has risen in popularity since launching in July 2018.

Why did you choose this takeaway & dish? Three Dollar Bill first came up on my Instagram feed at the start of 2022, after seeing their mouth watering updates, I took my mum along for Mother's Day.
Review:
After stalking Three Dollar Bill Pizza on Instagram for almost a year, I took my mum for a Mother's Day treat. There's plenty of choice on the menu but in the end I went for the Gus Guerra, topped with pepperoni, peccorino and oregano, while my mum went for the Lolo which is topped with Jerk ham and caramelised pineapple chutney.
Three Dollar Bill serves Detroit-style pizza which came in a square shape cut into four pieces. The base was thick and airy, almost the same texture of foccacia, and had crispy cheese all around the crust.
The marinara sauce was outstanding and like nothing I'd ever tried before. We also ordered some buratta loaded tater tots which, which will be haunting my dreams for some time.
The portion size's are incredible for the price. Staff did warn us that one pizza would be enough for the both of us with a side, but we decided before we arrived that we wanted some to take home and have the next day.
This pizza was well worth crossing the Mersey for if you're after pizza that gets more delicious with every bite.
