I tried the nostalgic BN biscuits from Asda and they took me back to my childhood

Shoppers have been extremely excited for the highly anticipated return of the classic McVitie's BN biscuit, as it made its way back to shelves in Asda.

The supermarket has brought back the popular biscuit after being on and off the shelves throughout the years, and there's even been petitions to bring it back!

Available in chocolate, strawberry and vanilla flavours, the BN biscuit was taken off supermarket shelves between 2003 and 2013 and now it's finally here.

I thought I'd give the popular biscuit a try to see if it was still as amazing as it used to be.

The biscuit

As I was mooching around Asda I spotted the brightly coloured BN biscuit packaging almost instantly, in all its glory.

There were a fair few that had already been purchased, and the shelf was looking quite bare, so I thought I'd grab a pack now before it was too late.

The retro packaging really took me back, with its wonderfully bright colours and classic smiling biscuit face that we all know and love.

In terms of size, there are 16 biscuits in the pack for £1, which is ideal if you want to share (or demolish the whole pack yourself).

As I took the biscuit out of the pack, it still had that nostalgic smiley face and classic square shape, sandwiched together with a chocolate filling.

After taking one bite, I was instantly transported back to my younger years, eating as many of these biscuits as I possibly could!

The crunch of the biscuit was really satisfying, and although the chocolate inside wasn't anything particularly luxurious, it was just a classic flavour I'd really missed.

The biscuit was also a lot bigger than I remember, which was surprising, as often when retro food items are brought back, they've considerably shrunk.

Of course, without a doubt, I'll be giving these classic biscuits a 5/5, purely for nostalgic purposes, but the buttery biscuit and chocolate filling tastes amazing too.

The verdict

If you're after a nice treat that's bound to take you back, you need to pop to your local Asda for some BN biscuits.

They're just as moreish and as tasty as I remember, and I'm not surprised that shoppers are extremely excited about their return.

I'll be on the lookout for some different flavours to mix it up a bit in the meantime, but I've got to eat this whole pack first, of course.

The BN biscuits were more than just biscuits, they unlocked a memory in my head of my younger days and for that I am grateful!
