Costa fans have been going wild for the new KitKat range which has landed just in time for Easter.
Customers are now able to pick up Chocolate Muffin made with KitKats, a KitKat Iced Chocolate Drink and a KitKat Hot Chocolate finished off with whipped cream, a chocolate bunny and small pieces of biscuit. Also included in the range is a caramel millionaire shortbread made with KitKat, made up with a base of KitKat wafer pieces.
The new range launched today, April 4, and is only available for a limited amount of time. I managed to grab a KitKat muffin and hot chocolate with all the toppings from my local Costa, to see if it’s really worth the purchase.

Costa is known for its limited edition ranges which include a variety of different chocolate favourites. Recently, they launched its hot cross bun range in time for Easter, which has also proved a hit with Costa fans. With that being said, here’s my verdict on the new KitKat goodies:
The hot chocolate
Considering there’s been a dramatic drop in temperature this week, I decided to opt for the KitKat hot chocolate as opposed to the iced chocolate. I went for all the trimmings which included cream, KitKat biscuit pieces, creamy milk chocolate sauce and a KitKat chocolate bunny.
It cost me £7.50 for two small KitKat hot chocolates and two KitKat muffins, and although the hot chocolates were the smallest size, the cream and extra bits made up for it. As I sipped into the hot chocolate, I wouldn’t say the KitKat taste was overpowering, but it was definitely there.
The hot chocolate was warm and velvety and really helped warm me up, and the cream was of course, a nice calorific addition. The one thing that really made the hot chocolate taste like KitKat more than anything was the biscuit bits sprinkled on top. I think without that and the chocolate bunny, it would have just tasted like a normal hot chocolate.
The drink was really filling and sweet, and the KitKat chocolate bunny was a nice addition to the drink. I’ve definitely tastes more hot chocolates from Costa that are spot on with the taste (like the Terry’s Chocolate Orange Christmas hot chocolate) but the KitKat one was still really tasty nonetheless.
The muffin
The muffin was the absolute star of the show in my opinion. Priced at £2.50, it’s the perfect Easter treat that was incredibly moreish indeed!
I find that some muffins can be really dry and boring, but this one was almost gooey from the melt in the middle chocolate and chocolate fondant on top. The KitKat bunny gave it a good bit of crunch on the top and it wasn’t one of those muffins where crumbs fall everywhere.
This muffin was definitely moreish, which I don’t think you always find when you grab a muffin from a coffee shop, since they’re a quick fix they can often be tasteless, but not this one. This KitKat muffin had a gooey centre and was just the right amount of chocolatey without it being too sickly.
The verdict
As a whole I was really impressed with the KitKat range, in fact, I wish there was more on offer because three different products just wasn’t enough. Although the hot chocolate didn’t completely hit the nail on the head, the KitKat biscuit pieces as an addition really helped.
The muffin was absolutely incredible, it was fluffy and light but still had that strong chocolate taste, not to mention the fact it was very moreish. Which is why I’ll be giving the new Costa KitKat range a four out of five, because who doesn’t love a KitKat?
