I tried the new Biscoff McFlurry and I'm desperate for it to stay on the menu

McDonald’s changed its menu today - and I think one new addition should definitely become a permanent option to order.

The Lotus Biscoff McFlurry is a game-changer, with crumbled biscuit pieces topped over ice cream. It has launched alongside the Caesar and Bacon Wrap, the Double Big Mac, Mozzarella Bites and the Double Chocolate Pie.

McDonald’s fans have dreamed of this for a while, with Head of Marketing Thomas O’Neill admitting it’s been a “long-time hope” of patrons. Thankfully, the collaboration between the American fast food outlet and the Belgian biscuit company has been worth the wait. I tried one for the first time today, and was quite impressed.

The Lotus Biscoff McFlurry was good but more biscoff was needed in my opinion (Jamie Greer)

The crumbling caramelised biscuit mixed perfectly with the soft ice cream, giving the desert a satisfying crunch. I usually opt for the safe option of a Maltesers McFlurry, so this was a very pleasant change.

I do think however there could be a bit more Biscoff in the ice cream. While there was a good serving on top, after a few scoops it was mostly ice cream, which was slightly disappointing in my opinion.

Given that the Lotus Biscoff McFlurry will be a limited edition too, we may not get the chance to see it improve. Given the documented issues with the ice cream machines at McDonald's, it’s great to order something different and unique when you get the chance to.

The Lotus Biscoff McFlurry is an imperfect but welcome addition. I’m just desperately hoping that it will become a constant option on the McDonald’s menu.
