Marks and Spencer have released a polka dot dress that looks very similar to Zara's 2019 sell-out and shoppers are loving it.
In 2019, Zara's £39.99 polka-dot smock dress became a hit among influencers and celebs. It was that popular, it even had its very own Instagram page at the time.
M&S shoppers will be pleased to know that there's a new kid on the block - the Polka Dot Collared Midi Column Dress which is being described as the perfect dupe for Zara's piece. It features puffed sleeves, a trendy collar and the classic ivory and black polka dot pattern.

I was lucky enough to get my hands on the dress which seems to be flying off the shelves recently, and it's safe to say I'm officially in love. I'm not usually a fan of anything polka dot, but there was something really special about this piece.
After trying it on, I totally understood the hype. This dress required minimal effort and still made me look very put together - what more could you want?
I'll be honest, I was a little unsure about the length of this dress, being 5'3 I didn't want it to totally drown me. Surprisingly, it actually fit me perfectly and was really quite flattering once I'd tied the waist.
I paired mine with some chunky sandals as advised on the M&S website, but you could easily make this outfit look dressier with a change in footwear. Although the 'regular' size is currently only available in a size 24, there's still a few 'long' sizes available including 6, 8, 10, 12 and 16 that fit me just fine in terms of length.
The viscose fabric was incredibly soft, but it also had a bit of a weight to it which made the dress feel premium and expensive. I've purchased a fair few midi dresses in my time and they can often be flimsy and easily creased, but this one felt amazing.
There's one thing that stood out to me the most, though. This nifty little dress had pockets!
Any dress that has pockets is an absolute winner for me, an ideal attribute perfect for shoving your phone and lippy in when you're on the move. The best part? You couldn't even see the pockets, they were very subtle which absolutely blew my mind.
In terms of detailing, the collar was a really pretty feminine feature and added a bit of pizzazz to the dress. I for one have never been too bothered about polka dots, but the subtleness of the design was a great touch.
In a nutshell, I think I've just found one of my new favourite summer dresses. If you're after something that's easy to wear that makes you look a million dollars, you need to give this dress a try.
Take it from me, a polka dot hater turned lover. You can purchase the dress here.
