Glowy skin is the trend of the summer, so if you’re still using your matte foundations and setting sprays, ditch them NOW. It’s all about glassy, dewy, healthy complexions - a trend ITV Love Island stars and the likes of Hailey Bieber have been loving of late.
Health and beauty retailer Boots provided a number of beauty, skincare and fragrance products for the Islanders to use in the villa this year, and the high street store revealed that the girls loved using a £4 pamper product to keep their skin looking fresh.
Helping the ladies achieve their gorgeously glowy skin was the Boots Glow Essence Serum, which aims to hydrate and refresh the skin, leaving it ‘looking brighter and feeling plumped’.

Desperate to achieve delightfully dewy skin myself, I snapped up the affordable beauty product and have been slathering it on my face every day for the past fortnight.
After cleansing and toning my skin with my favourite Liz Earle duo, I’ve been massaging two to three drops of the serum from the pipette dispenser into my skin. The lightweight and silky product has a light fragrance that’s a little bit like Parma Violets, but it’s nice and subtle.
Serums are perfect for people with dry skin, like me, and then you want to lock in that product with a good moisturiser - Boots even do a matching moisturising cream, which would be perfect.
After using the serum, my skin felt energised, fresh and looked hydrated and glowing. The product practically gave me a face lift, and made my skin look brighter.
The affordable beauty buy won’t break the bank, but it will level up your daily skincare routine. And I’ve heard that once you use it, you’ll never go back to another, with Boots shopper Catey2110 having recently picked up her third bottle.
Leaving a five star review on the Boots website, she said: “I was given this at Christmas in a gift set. I’ve used various serums from stupidly expensive to ridiculously cheap over the years but I can honestly say, this tiny bottle does what it says…. GLOWING SKIN!!
“I’m now on my 3rd bottle and I won’t swap it for anything else. I’m 45yrs old and my skin has never looked so plump or well hydrated since issuing this. I’ve had so many compliments since using this that it’s boosted my confidence! I use it with the Glow moisturiser and cannot get over how such an amazing product can be so low cost.”
She even begged the retailer to never discontinue it, adding: “Please Boots, DON’T EVER stop making this or change the formula!! I love it so much I’ve bought 5 bottles for my bridesmaids gift boxes.”
Gaylejd commented: “Bought the Boots glow essence serum last week after reading rave reviews. It really does smell lovely, make up goes on a dream & is not greasy at all. Gives skin a lovely, healthy glow & I'll definitely repurchase this. Good value too with 28ml in a pretty bottle.”
So, if you’ve been on the hunt for a serum to incorporate into your skincare routine, this is it - gorgeous glowy skin for the price of a cup of coffee, and you’ll look more awake than if you’d consumed the caffeine. You can pick up the Boots Glow Essence Serum on the Boots website for £4 here.
