Boots shoppers have been absolutely loving a fake tan mousse by St Tropez and I wanted to see what all the fuss was about.
The St.Tropez Self Tan Express Bronzing Mousse, which is £22 at Boots, has received nearly 200 five star reviews from those who have tried it. The fake tan is said to develop quickly, giving a "natural-looking" tan in just one hour.
I’m all for a bit of fake tan, but I’m often pretty lazy for it and choose cheaper options to get the job done. I usually just use a St Moriz mousse priced at £4, which does do the job, but can be a little streaky.

Boots shoppers have been loving the tan, saying it gives them a ‘golden glow’, and I have to agree. I was seriously impressed with this tan.
Described as a ‘one hour tan’ it’s best applied with a mitt. Users should wait one hour before showering for a light tan, two hours for a medium golden bronze and up to three hours for a deep, dark tan to suit your skin tone.
I’ve recently come back from holiday so I already had a slight tan, but I thought this particular tan would be good to keep it looking topped up and fresh. The bottle itself aesthetically looks very high quality and the 200ml bottle will definitely last users a good while.
First impressions? This tan actually smelt pretty good as far as fake tan goes, it had a bit of a perfumed scent.
Although you could definitely smell a hint of the classic biscuit fake tan scent, this mousse was slightly toned down. In terms of consistency, this stuff went on like butter - I was amazed.
It smoothed onto my skin so easily and didn’t take long to dry at all. The result of this? No streaks, which is an absolute bonus.
I left the tan on for three hours for maximum results and although it looked slightly orange before I hopped in the shower, it looked amazing once I’d gotten out. I looked really golden, it gave me more of a holiday tan than a fake tan.
Although I waited for the maximum amount of time, the tan still wasn’t overly intense which I really liked. I was seriously impressed with this tan and I’ll definitely be using it on a regular basis.
