B&M is renowned for stocking popular sweets in unconventional flavours, including a range of Australian Cadbury’s products you can’t find anywhere else. But some of them sound pretty peculiar, like bubblegum flavoured chocolate and raspberry biscuits.
The snack aisle in the bargain store is extremely colourful, and picking which treat to try can be a real challenge - especially if you’re not sure if you’ll like it.
Luckily, I’ve taken one for the team and tried seven of the strangest biscuit and chocolate creations from B&M to find which ones are worth your money, and which should stay on the shelves.

From cherry Jaffa Cakes to nostalgic BN Biscuits - here’s what I thought of seven B&M snacks.
Hubba Bubba M&Ms
These bubblegum flavoured M&Ms caused quite a stir when Newfoodsuk shared the product on Facebook , with fans having some pretty strong feelings about them
The post racked up more than 1,000 comments and hundreds of shares, with many ‘put off’ the odd snack.
The colours of the M&Ms are quite pretty in white, pink and blue - which would be great for a gender reveal party or bridal shower.
However, on taste testing the combination of chocolate and bubblegum felt extremely strange. It’s not one that should really mix, so I gave these one star out of five. They’d definitely make a better snack if they were Skittles, rather than M&Ms.
These were also £2.99, which I thought was very expensive for a bag of M&Ms.
Lion Bar Caramel Blond
Much more reasonably priced was the Nestle Lion Caramel Blond Bar, which came in a pack of five for £1.50.
The original Lion bar is a much-loved snack, and this limited edition flavour still features the popular crispy wafer and crisp cereal, but is encased in a double layer of caramel chocolate, rather than milk choc.
These were the perfect blend of crispy and chewy, and went down a real treat in our house with the family fighting over the last one. Five stars from me.
B&M also stock the original Lion bars, as well as peanut butter flavoured, and coconut flavours for those that love a Bounty.
Cherry flavoured Jaffa Cakes
We won’t argue over whether it’s a cake or a biscuit, but I will argue whether cherry is better than the original flavour - which I think it is.
The typical orange Jaffa Cakes are a delight, tangy and chocolaty, however the tart cherry flavour was extremely tasty.
They cost just 75p for 10 Jaffa Cakes, and feature a jammy cherry centre with dark chocolate. I initially rated these five our of five, but have amended my rating to four out of five only because I feel these would be more universally loved if they were milk chocolate.
The sponge was light and fluffy, but it was the cherry flavour that really made it. Though, I would be keen to try the passion fruit variety, too.
Cadbury Caramilk Hokey Pokey
I’ve already tried a good selection of the Australian Cadbury’s at B&M, with the Neapolitan flavour one being a firm favourite, but it’s just been overtaken by Caramilk Hokey Pokey.
The bar - which cost £2.99 - was Cadbury’s fan-fave Caramilk, with little crunchy ‘hokey pokey’ honeycomb pieces, a bit like a Crunchie bar.
It was creamy, crunchy and caramel-y all in one, and you only needed a few pieces to satisfy a sweet tooth.
The price is a little off putting for a bar of chocolate, and there are certainly cheaper options available, but if you save it as a treat, it’s well worth it.
Wispa Gold Hazelnut
Is there anything better than letting a Wispa bar melt in your mouth? Well now it’s been treated to a hazelnutty makeover with a streak of rich hazelnut sauce running through the centre.
The limited edition bar is now sold out on Cadbury’s, and has been reduced to just 29p at B&M, which suggests it could be your last chance to try this one. That said, Morrisons currently have a Cadbury’s Wispa Gold Hazelnut Easter egg on sale for £5, which comes with three bars.
The chocolate bar is perfect for fans of the likes of Kinder Bueno and Nutella, though I rated it four out of five as I found it a little sickly.
McVitie’s vanilla BN Biscuits
Nineties kids will fondly remember BN biscuits before they were cut from shelves for a decade in the UK. But fear not, they’re back and as delicious as we all remember them to be.
The nostalgic snack sees light, golden-baked biscuits sandwiched together with a yummy vanilla flavour filling, which peeks through a happy face on the front of the biscuit.
I’ve also seen these in chocolate and strawberry recently, too, but vanilla is by far the superior flavour. They get five stars for being fun, retro and delicious.
The pack cost £1 and I think these would be great for kids' lunchboxes. You get 16 in a pack, which can be split across the week for a treat that will make little ones smile while you relive your childhood at the same time.
Maltesers Raspberry Biscuits
Also priced at £1 were the Maltesers Raspberry Biscuits, which also come in an orange and an original flavour.
The description reads: “Experience the delicious taste of Maltesers in biscuits form, with a raspberry twist.”
However, I didn’t find them to have that same light and fluffy texture of normal Maltesers, and instead thought they were crunchier and overbaked. The flavour was very unusual, but the crunch was satisfying. I’m not sure I’d buy them again though - mediocre and average in comparison to some of the other snacks on offer.
