I tried Rihanna’s Fenty skincare range that’s 20% off at Boots following Super Bowl half-time show

Rihanna has been the talk of the universe today following a spectacular NFL Super Bowl halftime show where she performed a medley of her chart-topping hits. The Umbrella singer even announced the pregnancy of her second baby during the performance - sparking major excitement for fans.

And as the Barbadian singer made her return to the stage, watched by an estimated 115 million people, shoppers have been scrambling to stock up on her iconic Fenty skincare and makeup.

Searches for the brand, which launched in 2020, have reportedly been up by 1150 per cent worldwide, Landys Chemist revealed. It comes after fans watched as Rihanna paused and pulled out her Fenty Beauty By Rihanna Invisimatte Blotting Powder to make a few touch-ups during her 13-minute show.

Traditional ad slots at the Super Bowl can cost up to $7M for a 30-second slot, but it’s safe to say Rihanna’s genius tact for generating a product placement during the half-time show certainly got people hot for her brand.

I’ve been using a number of products from the Fenty Skin range for around 12 months now, and it’s easy to see why it’s so incredibly popular. Not to mention the fact that Boots currently has 20 per cent off the brand until midnight on Valentine’s Day (February 14), in celebration of the show-stopping performance, making it the perfect time to give it a go if you’ve had your eye on it.

I’ve been using the Start'r Set, which includes the Total Clens'r Remove-It-All Cleanser, Fat Water Pore-Refining Toner Serum and the Hydra Vizor Invisible Moisturiser for a no-fuss, three step routine that does all of the work for you.

Speaking on the launch, after struggling with her own complexion - even using one that ended up discolouring her skin - Rihanna said: "Fenty Skin is everything I wish I had back then. I wanted it to feel approachable, easy, and to take the pressure off choosing a routine, so I created one for everyone."

Paired beneficial ingredients from around the world, with skincare 'powerhouses' like hyaluronic acid and niacinamide, Fenty Skin offers a range of multi-functional products that are vegan, gluten free, cruelty free and inclusive for all genders and skin tones, making it one of the most inclusive brands on the market.

The Total Cleans'r Remove-It-All Cleanser is a 2-in-1 makeup remover and cleanser and a dreamy way to melt away makeup at the end of the day. Fragranced with cherry and coconut, it's a tropical dream that makes waking up and washing your face feel so refreshing and much less a chore. It doesn’t feel drying like some products can do, but still removes makeup effortlessly, feeling creamy and hydrating.

It works for most skin types, but it's particularly good for those suffering with oily to combination skin, as it's oil free.

After cleansing, the Fat Water Pore-Refining Toner Serum is designed to refine pores and reduce oil, and over time, reduce the look of dark spots. I occasionally suffer with blotchy skin and redness, and this double-whammy toning serum helps even my skin-tone and sees my skin feeling smoother.

The Fat Water is unlike any other product I've used, with a thick gel-like texture that simply absorbs into the skin. It looks like it would be sticky, but it's not at all. There's no need for cotton pads either, just apply a few drops into clean hands, and pat onto the skin. This product smells of cherry and fig, and has quickly become a must-have product for how quick and easy it is to use.

I love finishing my three-step routine with the Hydra Vizor Invisible Moisturiser, which contains that all important Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Sunscreen, which you should be wearing every day, no matter the weather.

The sunscreen leaves no white cast or chalkiness, and makeup sits really well on top of it. Oil-free and fragranced with watermelon, the moisturiser smells of summer, but also contains hyaluronic acid and aloe to hydrate and soothe skin.

What's more is that Rihanna's range is aiming to be more sustainable by offering refills, so you don't have to pay full price for a new one too, with refills available at a lower price point.

I feel that Rihanna’s Fenty Skin is providing accessible, mid-range skincare that takes the stress out of keeping your skin looking and feeling great. They all have really distinct scents of summer, and are a real treat to use, with each product just melting into the skin.

The fuss-free multifunctional products became my go-to because they were quick to use, easy to store, and got the job done without being in the bathroom for half an hour.

You can shop the Start’r Set for £25.60 on the Boots website, down from £32, which includes all three of the above skincare products, as well as a sample of the award-winning Butta Drop Whipped Oil Body Cream. Alternatively, there’s 20 per cent off all Fenty Skin and Beauty until midnight on February 14, with an additional 10 per cent off when you spend £60 or more.
