Everyday makeup is something I've managed to wrap my head around, but when it's time to get dolled up for a red carpet or that really fancy night out your friend keeps talking about it can be a little more daunting.
While going to your favourite makeup artist and sitting in her chair for an hour, or two, is a great option I decided to see if it was possible to get red carpet ready with just a few products.
Lancôme has a 'red carpet bundle' made up of the New Teint Idole Ultra Wear foundation (which has a new formula to adapt for dry, sensitive and acne-prone skin), L’Absolu Rouge Intimatte lipstick and Hypnôse Mascara. I decided to see if it lives up to the hype.

I was a little apprehensive about the foundation as I normally would go for a skin tint at most due to my dry and sensitive skin, but I was pleasantly surprised. It went on really easily and didn't leave my skin feeling suffocated or parched as I often find to be the case.
Even after hours of wear my skin still felt moisturised which is something I don't normally experience when wearing a full face of makeup. I was really impressed. A little goes a really long way, a single pump can do your entire face so I think this product has fairly good value for money at £38 purely due to how much use you get from it. It lasts all day, or night, and I didn't find myself wishing I could top it up either.
The lipstick felt more like a stain and I was surprised by just how pigmented it was. I was torn between two shades: French Tea and French Peluche, I found the former to be a little too pink and instead went with a more natural shade. I wasn't crazy about the lipstick, I do think the packaging is really nice but in terms of pigment I much prefer Mac or Uoma.
The Hypnôse Mascara definitely made up for what the lipstick lacked, it had an interesting shape to the tube and applied effortlessly. I loved the finish with my eyelashes looking longer without being clumpy which I find to be a recurring issue with mascaras. I finished my eyes with the Idôle Ultra Precise Waterproof Eyeliner - it went on easily and I could fix my wings quite easily.
Overall I quite liked Lancôme's offerings although I think I'll be sticking to my usual lipstick collection in future. You can shop the red carpet bundle here, with 20% off when using code BAFTABUNDLE*.
