If you trawl back through my many food reviews, you’ll quickly spot that I’m a massive fan of pizza.
I put my pizza obsession down to the fact I hated it throughout the majority of my childhood, being one of those infuriatingly fussy children who didn’t like most foods, before finally realising how wrong I was at around 13-years-old. I’m 31 now but still like to pretend I’m making up for lost time.
Takeaway legends Domino’s have recently launched a new vegetarian pizza, packed with basil pesto drizzle, grilled vegetables and decadent cheese. I’ve been a vegetarian for more than 12 years and find veggie pizzas can be somewhat lacklustre or limited when it comes to toppings, so I was keen to give this one a try.

Domino’s’ new Grilled Vegi Pesto pizza is a limited edition feast for the senses. It’s layered with chargrilled courgettes; red, green and yellow peppers; juicy tomatoes, a smattering of crunchy red onions, and is topped off with an aromatic pesto drizzle.
The new pizza is handmade in-store on Domino’s fresh dough - cooked to perfection in a manner that’s become a signature for the chain. The vine-ripened tomato sauce is delightfully tasty and tangy, while a generous sprinkling of mozzarella finishes the base beautifully.
When it arrived, the aroma was overpowering but in the best possible way - my mouth was watering before I'd even lifted the lid of the iconic blue box. The pizza manages to taste both fresh and naughty; an indulgent treat that doesn't leave you feeling too full or bloated.
The pizza was created to cater to the growing demand for more meat-free products and, as a vegetarian myself, it was lovely to order something that’s been so well executed and clearly well thought out. Long gone are the days of a few hard peppers being tossed on top of a pizza as a viable veggie option - now, there’s an abundance of fresh and varied flavours.
Whether you’re a meat eater or not, this delicious pizza is a sensational, flavoursome treat. I’m hoping it’ll become a permanent addition to the menu. Melanie Howe, Domino's fresh veg picker, said: “We know our veggie pizza fans love our flavour combinations, so we wanted to create an epic pizza that is perfect for al-fresco get-togethers this summer.
“We’ve taken the most popular veggie toppings and then thrown in some newbies that are packed with flavour, we’ve added a fragrant and delicious pesto twist to create our Grilled Vegi Pesto pizza that is sure to be a real crowd pleaser. The drizzle gives the pizza a herby pop of flavour like nothing else we have on the menu.”
The Grilled Vegi Pesto pizza varies in price, depending on size. Prices start from £8.99 for a 7" personal pizza, while a large 13.5" costs around £19.99.
The new pizza is also part of Domino’s’ Easter deals. The deal includes any two medium pizzas of your choice, two sides or cookies for £22.99. The deal is valid from today, Thursday, April 14 until Easter Monday, April 18.
