I tried Costa's festive menu and couldn't have felt more Christmassy

'Tis the season to be jolly! And although it isn’t December just yet, the Costa Christmas menu has got Community Reporter Keimae Blake into the Christmas spirit, as she reports…

Christmas is many people’s favourite time of the year and, of course, it isn’t just about presents but rather spending time with one another. Christmas, the perfect excuse to be naughty and eat one too many chocolates, is nearly here.

I know I’m guilty of using the season as an excuse to say 'Oh all right then, I’ll have another, it’s Christmas'”. Costa may be seeing me once or twice more than usual as they have brand new goods on their Christmas menu.

Wrapped up in my scarf and gloves, I went to the Costa Coffee shop on Main Street in Bulwell. After being a big fan of their popular limited edition Terry’s Orange Hot Chocolate last year, I was excited to see what else was in store this time around for the Christmas period.

You can choose from a variety of drinks on the Costa menu including Terry's Orange Hot Chocolate, Gingerbread and Cream Latte. I went for the brand new Hot Chocolate inspired by Toblerone and Light Dairy Swirl for £4.20.

My hot chocolate was well presented, decorated with red and orange edible sprinkles and when I was being served by Costa Bulwell’s friendly staff, the Toblerone Hot Chocolate seemed to be very popular amongst other customers in the queue too.

When staring at the electronic menu screen behind the counter, it made me feel really Christmassy. Is it too early to put the tree up? With many perfect for lunch options when your tummy starts to rumble at around 12PM, Costa has a Brie, Bacon and Cranberry Panini, a Pigs in Blanket Panini and a Turkey Feast Sandwich.

I went for the Brie and Cranberry Toastie for £3.45 which was divine. With stringy, melted cheese and sweet cranberry sandwiched in between steaming hot grilled bread, this has to be a new favourite of mine.

A toastie is the perfect comfort food along with a sweet treat of course. To end my meal, I had a Crispy Festive Wreath for £2.35.

As many Costa lovers know, there’s always a spread of cakes out on display but this edible wreath caught my eye. The rice crispy snack covered in chocolate and sprinkles was crunchy, delicious and full of flavour.

For those who may not fancy a festive wreath treat, Costa also has a brand new Toblerone Muffin, mince pies, a Christmas Tree shortcake biscuit and more. Everything I consumed on my visit was scrumptious and all of it deserves a 10/10.

With options suitable for vegetarians too like the Vegetarian Brie and Cranberry Toastie, I’m sure there’s something for everyone on this limited Christmas menu so hurry before the seasons are over.

Costa didn't know we were visiting and we paid our own bill.
