I tried Aldi's £4 dupe of a £45 Charlotte Tilbury Eyeshadow and I'm in love

I'm always on the hunt for new eyeshadow palettes, but they always end up being pretty expensive.

Aldi is known for its extensive array of dupes including NARS, Smashbox, and the iconic Charlotte Tilbury. After trying some of Aldi's eyeshadow in the past and absolutely loving it, I knew I had to try its new 'Quad Eyeshadow Palette'.

The Lacura Radiant Rust Quad Eyeshadow Palette is priced at £3.99, and promises 'champagne, rose-gold and copper shades'. It includes ingredients such as Vitamin E to hydrate and protect the eyelids, whilst offering 'non creasing and buildable tones'.

Described as 'perfect for any occasion' the shades are versatile to say the least, and can be used for either softer or more bold looks. The first thing I noticed about this palette was how similar it looked the Charlotte Tilbury 'Pillow Talk' palette - which is priced at a whopping £45.

Aesthetically, the palette looked so similar to the pricey version, but how did it look on my eyes?

The palette

There's no denyng that this palette has very similar packaging to Charlotte Tilbury. It has the rose gold metallic tone and four different shades inside.

In terms of colour scheme, the palette was virtually identical to the Charlotte Tilbury Luxury Pillow Talk Palette. It features a matte brown, a peachy matte pink, a shimmery pale bronze and a pink glitter.

To begin with, I applied the darker matte brown to my lid with a hint of the peachy pink. To finish off the look, I put the pink glitter on the inner corner of my eye and was amazed at the pigmentation.

The eyeshadows were really creamy and blended beautifully, and the pigmentation on the glitter was particularly strong. In terms of the matte shades, the pigmentation could've been slightly stronger, but as a whole for the price I was really impressed.

What I really loved was how easy it was to create a makeup look with one tiny palette. I always wear quite a lot of eyeshadow even on a daily basis, so this palette is super handy to keep in my bag.

The verdict

I absolutely love this palette, and for the price, it's a definite bargain. I'm often dubious when it comes to 'dupes', but this Aldi palette looks almost exactly the same as the Charlotte Tilbury one in terms of shade options.

Granted, the palette might not be as super pigmented as the Charlotte Tilbury version, but it still looks absolutely incredible on the eyelid. For £4, it still offers a strong, blendable eyeshadow option that I'm obsessed with.

The new eyeshadow palette will be available to purchase from June 22. Find your nearest Aldi store here.
