I tried a £28 Olaplex No.9 Serum and my hair felt 'softer than ever'

I'm a huge fan of Olaplex products, and whenever I spot a new one that I haven't used, I always like to give it a try (budget permitting!)

Although Olaplex products are of course, extremely expensive, I like to purchase them whenever I can considering how much bleach I have on my hair. When I go to the salon, I often pay extra for Olaplex, and continue the Olaplex process at home with the shampoo, conditioner and No.3 mask.

The Olaplex No.9 Bond Protector Nourishing Hair Serum is priced at £28 on LOOKFANTASTIC, which I originally thought was pretty steep before I used it and noticed its genuine benefits. Its described as a 'weightless leave-in hair serum' that promotes shine and offers heat protection.

It's suitable for all hair types and also protects from pollution and heat up to 232°C. The Olaplex No.9 Bond Protector is vegan and silicone-free with a patented bond-building technology.

I wasn't entirely sure what to expect in terms of consistency, but it was quite thin and runny. Its advised that you apply a small amount to damp, towel-dried hair working upward from ends to roots, or sparingly on dry hair for added shine and static control.

I decided to use the product on towel-dried damp hair before blow-drying, and I couldn't believe how smooth my hair was afterwards. My hair felt like I'd been to the salon for a blow dry, and it also surprisingly looked blonder too.

The product has received some rave reviews from shoppers in the past, and its easy to see why. Many have described the serum as "the best they've ever used" and a "miracle worker".

It's definitely a luxurious product, but the best part is, it lasts absolutely ages. You only really need one pump of serum before you blow-dry your hair, or a couple if your hair is longer.

A little really does go a long way, and despite the product being thin, it was very easy to spread throughout the lengths of my hair. In terms of scent, it didn't really smell of anything which was a bit of a shame, but that wasn't a massive issue.

Since using the Olaplex No.9, I've definitely seen a big difference in the texture of my hair. It feels super soft, and I can actually run a brush through it with ease - which is a rarity!

I think for blondes especially, this product is certainly worth the hype. Although it seems a little expensive for a serum, you get a lot of product that goes a long way.

This product would've been absolutely perfect if it had that classic perfumed salon scent, just for a bit of an added pamper. However, that definitely isn't going to stop me from purchasing it again.
