A woman says she has been branded a "'thief" on her village Facebook group - by a neighbour she helped. The woman took in a parcel for him recently after he didn't answer his door to the delivery driver.
The woman has now taken to the popular forum Mumsnet, distraught that her generous gesture turned into a public bashing. She explained: "Last night around 8.30pm a delivery driver asked me to take a parcel for a neighbour a few doors down and said he had knocked on my door as my gate was open.
"Then there was banging on my front door at 6.50am. I ran downstairs worried something was wrong and hoping it wouldn't wake the whole house up.

"It was my male neighbour who is in his 40s. He didn't bother to say hello and only said 'where is my parcel'.
"I explained it came last night. As I was pushing it down the hallway towards the door he said 'no need to be so dramatic - there's no need to pretend it's too heavy, that's why you didn't bother to bring it over last night, you just could not be bothered'.
"I was shocked and just said how he wasn't in and that's why the delivery driver gave me the parcel. He then said he was in but was having his dinner, it was raining so didn't answer the door, and I should have had some respect to do the polite thing and take the parcel to him.
"I started laughing as I thought he was joking. He then called me a waste of space," she added.
The woman said the man proceeded to bad-mouth her and brand her a "thief" on the village Facebook group, reports the Mirror. He warned fellow residents that "everyone should be careful" around the woman as she will "take their deliveries to keep for [herself]".
The woman went on: "This is not true and unluckily for him - I have this all recorded on the ring doorbell. You can hear us both word for word and see how angry he is in the video. "
Seeking advice from people on Mumsnet, she questioned whether it would be unreasonable to post the footage on Facebook. Since sharing her story online, the woman's thread has raked in more than 300 comments.
One person suggested: "I'd post it on FB. So rude to call you a thief when you did him a favour. And obviously, never take his parcels in again."
Meanwhile, someone else said: "Absolutely offer to post the doorbell footage."
