I swapped my bottle of shampoo for a 'first ever' eco-friendly 'shampoo sheet' and it's the future

It can take up to 450 years for one plastic bottle to decompose in landfill, and I for one, am guilty of using a lot of plastic shampoo bottles throughout the years.

Female founded brand Rehab is designed for 'busy women' with a mission to transform tired hair to its full healthy, glossy potential. Recently, it has recently launched a global-first 'shampoo sheets' product which is described as a 'never-seen before' product.

The cruelty-free shampoo sheets are free from sulphates, plastic and parabens, so I knew I had to give them a try. I'm always trying to improve and be more eco-conscious, and I was really excited to try this unique product.

On the Rehab website, the full product description reads: "Say goodbye to bulky shampoo bottles, as we introduce this never-seen before patent-pending shampoo product that is not only vegan and cruelty-free, but also free from sulphates, plastic, and parabens.

Meet the revolutionising chic, ZERO waste shampoo. 25 sheets included in each box. This is a must have product with patent pending and globally exclusive to REHAB. Formulated with rosemary oil, known to promote stronger, fuller-looking, healthy hair. This single use shampoo sheet instantly lathers to a foamy shampoo with water. The shampoo sheet comes in a dissolvable sachet that dissolves down the drain while you wash your hair."

How use the shampoo sheets

I wasn't entirely sure what to expect with the shampoo sheets, but I ended up being absolutely amazed by how utterly easy the process was. To use, I completely wet my hair, opened the sachet, took out the shampoo sheet and dissolved the empty sachet in the shower.

I couldn't believe how quickly the sachet dissolved, and it was so much easier than having bulky bottles of shampoo around creating more waste and clutter. To apply the shampoo to my hair, I added water to the shampoo sheet and let it lather in my hands.

After massaging into my hair, it actually lathered really well, which was a bonus. I find it so irritating when a shampoo doesn't lather, and the amount of bubbles that came from one little sheet was pretty amazing.

I rinsed it into my hair thoroughly and added my conditioner and was left with soft silky hair, and zero waste. I was gobsmacked at how well this nifty little product worked.

The verdict

I really wasn't sure what to expect with the shampoo sheets, but the Rehab product ended up being so easy to apply to my hair. I truly believe that a product like this is the future, and Rehab has absolutely smashed it with this one.

The shampoo smelt amazing, and for £24 you get 25 sheets. As well as being super eco-friendly, this product is also great to take on holiday with you if you don't want to carry bulky bottles.

For those trying to save on space in their luggage for more clothes, these sheets are an incredible alternative. To find out more about the shampoo sheets, visit the Rehab website here.
