'I subscribed to a friend's OnlyFans - her boyfriend is furious with me'

A university student decided to follow his old school friend's OnlyFans account after spotting a link on her Instagram, but things soon got complicated.

The 20-year-old claims he doesn't see her all that much nowadays as they're both away studying, but they make sure to catch up when they're back at home.

He's aware that she has a boyfriend, but says he doesn't really know him all that well and has only really hung out with him when she's around. However, they recently became acquainted in an explosive fashion.

Two weeks back, he saw that his pal had posted an Instagram story about how a number of people have told her that, with her good looks, she could earn plenty of money through OnlyFans.

She then put this to a vote to see if others agreed. Later that same night, she shared another story revealing that she had indeed launched her OnlyFans, linking followers to her account.

It turned out that her boyfriend wasn't okay with her having OnlyFans (Stock Photo) (Getty Images/iStockphoto)

Taking to Reddit, the anonymous student recalled: "I check it out and I think f*** it, why not. So I subscribe. Obviously, that means I see the pics and videos she puts up over the next few days.

"I then get phone calls from her boyfriend going absolutely mental. Apparently, he didn't want her doing it, didn't see the post saying she had, and when he found out he demanded she stops and asked if anyone he knows had seen."

According to the poster - who goes by the username u/AITAaccthrow - he'd made the "rookie mistake" of not realising that you can see the names of everybody who subscribes.

Now the enraged boyfriend is ringing up all guys he knows who subscribed to the now-deleted page, demanding they delete any content they might have saved.

The poster, who thinks the boyfriend has no right to be so angry with him, continued: "I had enough of being shouted at so I hung up and ignored his calls.

"She then messaged me to say that she's sorry he went crazy at me (she was with him apparently) but that I shouldn't have subscribed, and I should have apologised to him, and now her.

"I don't get it though. She put up the account publicly for people to subscribe. It'd be like her selling candles on Etsy and getting p***** that I ordered one from my point of view".

His fellow Reddit users see where he's coming from here, with one person remarking: "Clearly this couple doesn't seem to have their relationship in order.

"She's at a place where she's comfortable being an OnlyFans model, while he's a bit more prudish. Neither approach is wrong, the issue here is compatibility, none of which is your or any subscribers' problem. I probably would've used a burner account though, not going to lie."

Another wrote: "If someone posts about their Onlyfans in an area where people who know them can see, then they are okay with those people seeing that Onlyfans content.

"I have an Onlyfans that I don't let my friends have access to. I use accounts that they don't know the URLs for and they all know that if they find it, I would not like them to subscribe.

"I'm very open about having one and about keeping it secret from my friends because it makes me uncomfortable for them to see me in that light.

"Since she posted it publicly to her public Insta where her friends follow her, the assumption is that she is okay with her friends following her there."
