I rented two outfits worth £247 for The Grand National and it cost me £50

With huge events such as The Grand National, it can be super tricky planning an outfit.

I'm incredibly guilty for purchasing an array of differnt glamorous dresses for one singular occasion, and never wearing them again. The amount of outfits that end up collecting dust in my wardrobe is quite shameful, so I've been looking for an alternative option for a while.

I've used Hire Street in the past for a wedding and was really happy with the end result, so I decided to use them again for The Grand National. Of course, The Grand National is a huge deal when it comes to dressing up, so I wanted to pick myself a vibrant, bold outfit that I knew I'd feel good in.

Fashion is all about experimenting, and thankfully there's a way that we can do that now without spending hundreds of pounds. Hirestreet allows shoppers to hire outfits from some huge fashion names including Nobody's Child, French Connection, Lavish Alice, Finders Keepers and Talulah for a special occasion.

I managed to find a gorgeous Nobody's Child Lime Green Dani Dress for Ladies Day which has a RRP price of £91. Since the weather ended up being absolutely atrocious on the day, I ended up having to wear a blazer over the dress.

Luckily, I'd also ordered the Runaway The Label Pink Francesca Co-Ord priced at £29 for a RRP of £156 for a separate occasion - which I thought was an absolute bargain. I wasn't sure if the blazer would work with the white detail on the collar area, but it worked really well with the dress in the end.

I was really impressed by the quality of both outfits, and the process to hire them was incredibly easy. The delivery was super fast, and all I had to do was wear it for the occasion, and post it back in the same packaging and returns sticker that was given to me.

There were different options for hiring each outfits, for different prices. For the Ladies Day Nobody's Child dress cost £21 for four days, £24 for ten days and £33 for 30 days. The Runaway The Label Pink Francesca Co-Ord costs £29 to rent for four days, £33 for ten days and £44 for 30 days.

The outfit arrives on or before your chosen delivery date and you'll recieve a time slot on the morning your order is being delivered. If the outft doesn't fit, Hire Street offers rental credit on any unworn items, and you just need to leave the ribbon attatched if you decide not to wear it.

I'll definitely continue to rent items for big events like this in the future, simply because my bank balance can't take any more stupidly expensive outfits! I've definitely learnt the hard way by having a wardrobe full of formal clothes that I don't wear, but at least I know now.
