I quit a corporate job to be an actor: Megha Ray

It wasn’t easy, but Megha Ray, a computer science engineer who was working for a corporate, one day just quit her job. She wanted to pursue her dream of becoming an actor, and today she is glad she took the leap.

Megha, who made her TV debut with Dil Yeh Ziddi Hai in 2019, will soon be seen in Sapnon Ki Chhalaang.

She says, “I was very good at academics, but deep down I knew I wanted to be an actor. So I got into showbiz, but the initial journey was tough. When I started auditioning, I realised that it wasn’t easy to bag a role. Out of hundred auditions, I got through just two. What I did learn is that you can’t stop because if you do that, then the right opportunity may never come your way.”

She is happy to be pursuing a profession today that she is passionate about. Talking about coping with the initial struggle, she says, “I have never been a quitter in my life. I had decided that for the first two years, I wouldn’t be too hard on myself because being a part of showbiz I knew would not be easy. I never had any plan B and just kept going. After every audition, I used to make notes of how I could improve in ,my next. With hard work, I have now I reached this point.”
