'I paid €35 to use the Dublin Airport East Lounge and it was well worth the price'

I fly through Dublin Airport every couple of months but it recently dawned on me that I have never tried any of their lounges.

When I was travelling to Abu Dhabi a couple of weeks ago, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to try The East Lounge which is available to passengers flying east. The reservation cost €35 and you could pre-book your access online.

I arrived at the airport a couple of hours before my flight as it was long-haul but I sailed through bag drop and security in no time. This gave me about two hours to enjoy the lounge, which is located on the corridor that connects Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.

Although I was expecting it to be enjoyable and luxurious, The East Lounge still surpassed my expectations. Even in the early morning darkness, the runway views were great and the lounge had a calm atmosphere that felt far away from the hustle and bustle in the main areas of the terminals.

There was a buffet breakfast with a selection of fruit, cereals, yoghurts and pastries as well as unlimited tea and coffee. You could also order two free alcoholic beverages of your choice.

The bathroom was spotless and included a shower room and fresh towels, which was very welcome ahead of an eight hour flight.

All in all, I felt paying €35 to use the lounge was great value. Considering I didn't have to buy myself breakfast or drinks in the pub like I usually do, paying €35 for the lounge felt like a steal.

If you're looking for a comfortable place to wind down before your East-bound flights, definitely consider booking into the East Lounge. You can find out more information online.
