We all have names that we love and ones that we would never give to our children, and while everyone has their own opinion, no one is right or wrong when it comes to choosing monikers for their kids.
But one mum has been forced to take action on social media after her family and friends have flatly refused to call her baby by her first name, and opted to only refer to her by her middle name instead.
According to a friend of the mum, she decided to call her daughter Morpheus Juliette, but people aren't keen on the unusual first name - which is also the name of one of the main characters in The Matrix film franchise.
Morpheus - who was played by Laurence Fishburne in the first three Matrix films, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II in The Matrix Resurrections - is also the name of the god of dreams in Greek mythology.
In a post on Reddit, the mum's friend wrote: "My friend named her baby Morpheus Juliette and posted a Facebook post asking family and friends to stop referring to her as Juliette and to call her Morpheus. Is her first name that bad?"
And commenters on the post were quick to voice their own opinions on the unconventional moniker, as many of them said that it's traditionally a male name as Morpheus in Greek mythology is a god rather than a goddess.
However, many commenters said they wouldn't use the name even if they had a baby boy, as they thought the moniker was "horrible".
One person said: "What a horrible girl's name. I don't like it for a boy either but definitely not for a girl."
As another wrote: "It's awful, honestly. I would not be surprised in the least if the child changes their name in the future."
And a third posted: "I don't think I've heard a worse name for a girl than Morpheus. Your friend's daughter will use her middle name as soon as she has a choice, and will resent her parents for it."
There were also commenters who asked if the post was "real" and begged the mum's friend to admit she was playing a prank on people in the Name Nerds forum, but she insisted it wasn't a "troll post".
The woman also said she asked for opinions on Reddit because she wanted to know if she was in the wrong for "judging" her friend's choice of baby name.
