'I missed school prom to give birth to son - now all his mates fancy me'

A former teen mum who became a TikTok sensation in recent weeks says people assume her son is her brother because of their small age gap.

The young mum, Zoe Cannon, 29, sat her GSCEs while heavily pregnant and her due date was the night of school prom, so there's just a 16-year age gap between her and her 13-year-old son Alfie.

Her and her boyfriend have been together since they were 13, and the childhood sweethearts now have a second child together.

Zoe and her firstborn Alfie have been making videos for the past three months, and the adorable pair have already racked up millions of views thanks to their likeability.

In recent weeks Zoe has shared her family story on social media, and people have found it heartwarming.

Speaking exclusively to the Daily Star, Zoe said: "I didn't go to my prom because that was my due date."

She did say she wasn't too disappointed she missed it, however, as she got all the gossip from her friends - so it felt like she'd been there, although she was actually giving birth.

She then spoke about how she took to motherhood quickly, despite her age.

"Now we get it all the time about being siblings", she admitted. "There are a lot of those comments online and when he was younger and I would take him to the doctors they would assume he was my brother."

The mum made a TikTok account in the 2020 lockdown but didn't really use it, but recently she's been making videos with her son and they've really taken off.

Zoe admitted that she never thought the TikTok account would reach as many people as it has, saying that she loves it because her and Alfie enjoy making content together.

She went on to detail how one of her son's classmates 'stared' at her because he must've recognised her from the video-sharing platform.

She said Alfie doesn’t read comments on the videos but he has had some banter from his classmates where some of them called Zoe 'fit'.

Speaking about having a baby at a young age Zoe gushed: "I'm not embarrassed about anything in my life, everyone does right and wrong. It was just the way my life worked out having a baby young. He is confident and happy and that is all that matters."
