Allan Saint-Maximin insists his ambition is to stay at Newcastle United 'for a long time' amid recent speculation over his future. Reports have linked the Toon talisman with a summer move - despite making the most goal involvements for the Magpies this season. Eddie Howe rubbished claims the Frenchman could be headed for the exit last week and insisted he has a long-term future on Tyneside.
Saint-Maximin quickly became a fan favourite following his move from Nice in 2019 for his flamboyant performances on the pitch and humorous outbursts on social media. During the latter stages of Mike Ashley's tenure, the maverick's eye-catching displays were one of the few reasons why supporters kept flocking to St James' Park in their thousands.
The winger gifted one fan a £2,000 watch earlier in the campaign and was also videoed giving money away outside the ground. Now, Saint-Maximin has opened up about his connection with Newcastle supporters and revealed the gifts are just one way of him repaying their faith.
