'I'm sick of saying it!' - Roy Keane blasts Manchester United's David de Gea after FA Cup final

Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane blasted goalkeeper David de Gea following Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Manchester City in the FA Cup final at Wembley.

Two goals from Ilkay Gundogan were enough to keep City's treble hopes alive ahead of next weekend's Champions League final against Inter Milan. Gundogan fired City in front after just 13 seconds - scoring the fastest goal in FA Cup final history - before Bruno Fernandes brought United level from the penalty spot with 33 minutes gone.

Gundogan, however, had the final say in the contest, scoring the winner just six minutes after half-time. He connected with Kevin De Bruyne's free-kick and fired the ball home from the edge of the box.

The German's effort bounced on the way through, meaning De Gea was unable to scramble across quickly enough to keep it out and keep the scores level at 1-1. On review, the Spaniard ought to have done a lot better as he failed to move his feet quickly enough to get across to his right-hand side.

It meant the former Atletico Madrid shot-stopper once again found himself staring criticism in the face. He is out of contract at Old Trafford at the end of this month but is expected to soon put pen to paper on fresh terms.

However, former United ace Keane demanded that the club recruits a new goalkeeper in the forthcoming summer transfer window, insisting that De Gea is "not good enough" to continue as the Reds' first-choice option between the sticks.

"They need a new goalkeeper and world-class striker, I'm sick of saying it!" Keane told ITV Sport. "De Gea's not good enough, he is not going to be the one to take United back to winning trophies."

Earlier this week, Ten Hag admitted that De Gea, despite wanting to keep him, may not necessarily remain the club's No.1 next season.

Asked if De Gea will stay at Old Trafford this summer, Ten Hag said: "Yes, but I will not say he'll always be my No.1 because in a club like Man United there must be competition in all positions. You can’t do it with 11 players.

"It is impossible. You need double positions."
