Esha Kansara is set to return to Maddam Sir, a show she’d done back in 2021. Her stint as Misri Pandey on Maddam Sir was only a 15-day affair, even though she was promised that her role would be for three months. She says, “Yes, I am shooting for a cameo in Maddam Sir. The show is going off air shortly, so the creative team is bringing all the prominent characters together on screen, one last time. I have been shooting for the same.”
For Esha, who recently got married to her musician beau Siddharth Bhavsar, is this show a comeback of sorts as an actress, given she had taken a short break? Esha avers, “I had simply taken some time off to look for work, it was not a planned break. We are actors, not machines, we can’t work 24x7. We need time to choose the right projects. Sometimes it takes time to find these projects. There are times when we are actually having discussions with show makers for work, sometimes we are doing look tests. So, when actors say they are ‘reading scripts’, most of the time that’s not correct.”
Esha, who’s recently signed up for another Gujarati film, sounds excited about the project. She says, “I am really excited about the recently launched Tron Ekka with Malhar (Thakar), Yash (Soni), Mitra (Gadhvi) and Kinjal Rajpriya. I’ve also wrapped up Hun Maari Wife Ne Eno Husband, but am unsure about its release.” For Esha, 2023 is a year where she’d like to straddle all mediums-TV, OTT, and films. She says, “2023 will see me doing a lot of films for sure. My TV stint all depends on what I am offered. While I haven’t taken up an OTT project yet, I am open to doing good shows. As an actress, I just want to do a little bit of everything-TV, cinema, or OTT. I would never say never to anything.”
