'I'm a time traveller and I know if England will win the World Cup after 56 years'

A self-proclaimed time traveller has claimed to know who wins this winter's World Cup - and even shared a clip of the yet-to-happen event.

Posting on TikTok, one person claimed they had travelled in time from the future and alleged they had ‘proof’ of England winning the World Cup final.

They said ‘it’s coming home’ as they posted a video they claimed was proof of England beating Portugal in the final.

Without sharing too many details, they shared a video with a caption that read: "I'm a time traveller, England just beat Portugal in the World Cup final!!"

As the clip begins, a commentator can be heard saying “... are the champions of the world” before it shows the scores.

Captain Harry Kane, it claims, will score in the first half before Mason Mount would clinch the victory in the 84th minute.

The 2-0 score appeared on the TV screen before it cut to celebrating Three Lions fans inside a stadium.

Cristiano Ronaldo can then be seen walking away in disappointment and Portugal boss Fernando Santos threw his hands in the air.

The video continues to the River Thames showing a celebratory firework display as well as the London Eye.

The last time England won the World Cup was in 1966.

However, not everyone was convinced and when the draw is looked at, Portugal and England would meet in the semi-final, not final, if both teams progressed as far as they could.

Some fans mentioned crazy predictions that other alleged time travellers had made as well.

Some users were complimentary of the editing skills of the 'time traveller' (didzy_dcfc/TikTok)

One said: "That's funny, some other time traveller said Brazil beat France 2-1 earlier”.

A second commented: "I see on yesterday saying England beat Brazil 1-0 in the final. A few time travellers out there aye."

A third referred to another source - the Simpsons - and said: "Nope, Simpsons said Portugal vs Mexico I think. Either way I love England but nah, we ain't winning."

Others were just impressed with the TikTokers slick editing skills combining different clips, but some recognised the origin of some of the videos too.

One commenter said: "Bro used audio from 2018 World Cup final France was the winner. If you focus, you could hear -nce."
