Amazon Prime Big Deal Days are here, and some of the deepest discounts are already dropping. Popular models from premium brands, including Tempur-Pedic, Nectar, and Leesa, are currently listed for less. You've got 48 hours to search and shop – Amazon Prime Big Deal Days come to a close at 23:59, October 9.
Whether you're looking for an affordable mattress for your guest bedroom or a luxe option for everyday use, it pays to shop the mattress sales. Still, with so much listed for so little, it can be difficult to tell the difference between a good deal versus a low price on a poor product.
That's where I come in. As H&G's resident Sleep Editor, I lead a team of expert testers in the search to find the world's best mattress. For the sake of a fair fight, we assess each mattress against the same criteria: pressure relief; thermoregulation; motion isolation; and edge support. Whenever you see a mattress feature in H&G, you can rest easy in the knowledge that a member of our expert team has slept in that mattress for at least 30 days to give an accurate indication of long-term performance.
Best Prime Day mattress deals − tried and tested
This Prime Day, there are only 3 mattress deals right now that I honestly think are worth considering. I will keep an eye on the sales of course, and update you if any more I think worth shouting about pop up.
These aren't the absolute cheapest beds on Amazon, but they offer the best performance at the fairest price. I've put them all in one place to save you time and money. Below, you'll find a bite-size summary of each mattress, including its key pros and cons, as well as a brief overview of the specs and a little bit about our testing experience. If you're keen to learn more about a mattress, you can read our dedicated reviews.
Type: Memory foam
Firmness: Medium-firm
Thickness: 12"
Sizes: Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King, California King
+ Optimal pressure relief
+ Excellent motion isolation
- Edge support could be better
One of our expert testers, Casey, suffers from fibromyalgia, a chronic pain condition that extends across her body. Between her aches and pains and her insomnia, Casey often struggles to sleep, but she managed to nod off with the Nectar Memory Foam Mattress. 'I wanted a mattress that was firm enough to support my body, but also soft enough to be comfortable,' says Casey: 'I think the Nectar Memory Foam Mattress hits the sweet spot.' This memory foam mattress is made to absorb motion and bear weight for supportive sleep. Casey recommends it for couples, light sleepers, and buyers on a budget. The only downside is the edge support: you might struggle to sit on the side of the bed to tie your shoes or nurse a baby.

Type: Memory foam
Firmness: Medium
Thickness: 10"
Sizes: Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King, California King
+ Ideal for side sleepers
+ Great pressure relief
- Lots of motion transfer
How you feel about the Leesa Original Mattress largely depends on your sleep positions. If you sleep on your side, like Lucy, you'll probably love it. 'I need a plush surface to cushion my joints and take the weight off my hips and shoulders,' says Lucy. 'I found that the Leesa Original Mattress struck a great balance between comfort and support. I never woke up with aches and pains and my spine stayed straight.' If you sleep on your back or stomach, you might appreciate a firmer surface to keep your spine in line. If you share a bed with a pet or partner, or you're a particularly light sleeper, I suggest you shop the Nectar Memory Foam Mattress, instead: the motion isolation is far superior.

Type: Hybrid
Firmness: Medium
Thickness: 12"
Sizes: Queen, King, California King
+ Active cooling
+ Excellent edge support
- Very heavy
I usually hesitate to recommend the Tempur-Pedic ProAdapt Mattress because it's so expensive, retailing somewhere around $3,500 for a Queen. I feel much more confident with this Prime Day discount. 'I started testing the Tempur-Pedic ProAdapt Mattress more than two years ago,' says former sleep editor, Jaclyn. 'In total, we've tested 30 mattresses, but this one is still a top contender for the title.' This hybrid mattress marries the contouring comfort of memory foam with the airflow and support of an innerspring. I'd recommend it for hot sleepers and couples in particular. Before you buy, be warned that the Tempur-Pedic ProAdapt is seriously heavy: it's the combination of steel springs and dense foam. If I were you, I'd opt for white glove delivery and ask a friend to help me flip my mattress.
