'I'm a mum-of-nine but my house is never messy, there's no excuse for it'

When it comes to being a parent, there's a lot to do, so certain tasks like cleaning the oven or dusting the bookcase might slip on your list of priorities as you juggle the other demands of life.

But there's nothing wrong with that at all, we're all just doing our best.

However, one mum has a very different view on this matter and she previously shared it during an episode of the Channel 4 show, Obsessive Compulsive Cleaners.

In a clip that's recently resurfaced online, the mum-of-nine from Lincolnshire, known only as Louise, shared how she feels there's "never an excuse not to clean" and claimed she always keeps her house spotless, cleaning for at least six hours a day.

Louise hasn't been diagnosed with OCD, but cleaning does have a big impact on all areas of her family - getting the kids involved in the housework and refusing to cook certain foods like burgers in the house, due to the smell and mess.

She said: "Cleaning has to be done all day, every day.

"Even with the big family, there's no excuse.

"I've got a seven-bedroom house to keep and I easily do that. I keep it spotless, so I just can't understand why other people can't do the same.

"I want them to know that there's always time to clean and there's never an excuse not to clean."

Louise went on to say that her nine children also help out with the cleaning, as she has taught them to keep everything tidy.

"All the kids know how to behave in the house, they know the house has to be kept clean at all times," the mum explained.

But she has had to ban them from one room in order to always keep it presentable - a walk-in wardrobe she created out of one of their bedrooms and stores all the clothes for the entire family in.

“No one is allowed in here - only me. I just think it's a lot nicer when things are kept tidy,” Louise shared.

The mum also revealed a few of her top cleaning tips - including how she uses some of the children's items to help keep the home in top order.

"I even use some of the kids' stuff around the house to help me clean. I use one of the little one's plastic forks," she admitted.

"I put a baby wipe over the end of it and it lets me get in all the gaps around the microwave."

And when it comes to cleaning windows and glass, Louise recommends filling a spray bottle with vinegar and water.
