I'm a Celebrity viewers taken back by show's difficulty spike

I'm a Celebrity fans were stunned by the difficulty spike in the show's trials.

The campmates have faced relatively mundane trials which saw the majority of stars up for grabs inevitably won. Jill Scott and Matt Hancock were some of the biggest earners as Chris Moyles became the only person to struggle with the challenges.

For the duration of the show, viewers have complained that this series seems "too easy" as the celebrities didn't show any major pushback or fear. After Chris and Owen Warner only managed to bring home one meal for camp in tonight's show, fans were left stunned by the sudden difficulty spike.

Chris, while blindfolded, was in charge of operating an electrically charged crane that would shock him periodically. He was tasked with moving and lowering Owen over several containers of creepie crawlies to find stars, with that being only half of the challenge.

Owen would then have to throw the star into a postbox which he failed to do five times out of a possible six. As his frustration mounted, viewers couldn't help but notice how vastly different tonight's task was compared to previous evenings.

One viewer said: "Jeez, this is one of the hardest trials of the series. Why did they wait until now to bring it out?" A nother added: " No bc this trial is actually difficult

Whilst a third said: "Nah I’m sorry this is so hard, I just don’t think they needed the throwing the star part because it’s the smallest opening when he’s so far away at such a difficult angle." A final added: "This is actually a hard trial."

After stepping down from the trial, Chris tried to console Owen but he was having none of it. Admitting the blame fell on his shoulders, he said it was a "poor show" to take back only one of six possible meals to camp. Ant and Dec even joked about the difficulty of the trial before agreeing it all came down to Owen's throw.
