Ant and Dec have shared start date for the new series of I'm A Celebrity, days after the information had been 'leaked' by an insider. And in a move that will delight fans, the opening episode will be an extra long special.
I'm A Celebrity has now been on our screens for 20 years, with radio legend Tony Blackburn winning the first series back in 2002, being followed by the likes of Kerry Katona, Matt Willis, Stacey Solomon, Vicky Pattison and Scarlett Moffatt. For the past two years, I'm A Celeb has had a Queen and King of the Castle, after Covid forced bosses to move the show from Australia to Wales.
Giovanna Fletcher won the first Welsh based series at the end of 2020, before Emmerdale actor Danny Miller followed in her winning footsteps last year.

The first four stars on this year's 'm A Celebrity line-up have now landed in Australia, with Chris Moyles, Olivia Attwood, Sue Cleaver and Owen Warner all touching down at Brisbane airport. And, hours after Hollyoaks star Owen was snapped by photographers, news broke that the new series start date was officially Sunday, November 6, the very date that had been circulating online earlier this week.
The date was published in a joint Instagram post from I'm A Celebrity and ITV and then shared by hosts Ant and Dec, with the day and start time of 9pm etched onto a jungle sign. On hearing the news, one fan tweeted: "Can we just skip to I’m a Celeb starting please?"
Echoing those sentiments, another tweeted: "You don’t understand how excited I am to hear the I’m a Celebrity tune back on tv! It’s almost my fav time of the year."
The first episode of I'm A Celebrity will be an extended special. with the show running from 9-10.45pm.
It is being suggested that the reason for the earlier than usual start date is to allow the competition to be done and dusted in time for ITV to start its coverage of the World Cup from Qatar.
