I'm A Celebrity spoiler as star quits first trial and another plunges from 32 storeys

It's not even started on TV yet, but one celeb could have already said "I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here" after appearing to pull out of the terrifying first trial.

The first task of the series sees celebs walk to the end of a wobbling platform from an enormous height. Gogglebox star and comedian Babatunde Aléshé was 32 storeys high on the roof of the Focus building on the Gold Coast alongside Jill Scott and Charlene White when drama unfolded in scenes which will be aired when the show hits screens on Sunday night.

Presenters Ant and Dec explained the challenge to the trio and 45 minutes later they decided to give it a go, suggesting someone was having second thoughts about taking part and had to have a pep talk.

Once at the end of the plank, contestants had to wait and be tipped up to look at the ground while holding onto a bar with their hands behind their back. Jill, 35, and Charlene, 42, managed to complete the task, however Babatunde could be seen reluctantly making his way along his plank and then stopping and heading back to the roof. The funnyman was seen in photos with his head in his hands looking scared. Crew looked over the platform for any issues, however it seems that Babatunde did not take part in the competition.

According to the Mirror, one onlooker said: "Babatunde looked nervous before the challenge began and he never got going. He shuffled and stopped and left Charlene out on her ledge for several minutes. After that Jill wasted no time and got straight out to join her."

Speaking before entering the jungle, Babatunde said that he would try his best to take part in all challenges put his way on the ITV show.

The frightening challenge is just the first of many that the celeb campmates will face as filming began on Friday in Australia. The contestants will be split into three groups and will enter the jungle at different times when the show returns on Sunday night.

At the time he said: "I don’t know about phobias but I just want to challenge myself. I want to at least try with each one at least try, and if it is too much, because it is mind over matter isn’t it? But if it gets too much to the point where I mentally can’t deal with this then yeah just say those words do you know what I mean?"

Later in the same interview he said: "To be honest I signed up mainly because I have got a lot of fears that I want to face. I am excited for everyone to watch me go on this journey of almost like self discovery."

ITV have been contacted for comment.

Watch the terrifying moment in full when I'm A Celebrity returns this Sunday on ITV at 9pm.
