The star-studded line-up of I'm A Celebrity... South Africa was revealed last night, with presenters Ant and Dec making the announcement on Saturday Night Takeaway. Amongst those swapping their lives of luxury for a diet of rice and beans is Clifton celeb Carol Vorderman, who originally appeared on the OG ITV reality show in 2016.
Maths whizz and former Countdown star Carol was a huge hit with fans when she entered the jungle nearly seven years ago, with viewers excited to see her return for the spin-off show, which will air in April. But, as expected, the pre-recorded show appears to have been a gruelling experience for the 62-year-old, who can be heard screaming in a new trailer for the upcoming series, The Express reports.
Ant and Dec shared the trailer with viewers last night, as they revealed that Carol would be joined by the likes of Helen Flanagan, Paul Burrell, Amir Khan, Janice Dickinson, Shaun Ryder, and Fatima Whitbread in South Africa. In the trailer, mum-of-two Carol could be seen looking across the beautiful South African landscape and commenting: "Look at that, it's extraordinary."
As Carol and her fellow campmates arrived in the middle of nowhere, they were greeted by Ant and Dec, who informed them that, whilst they managed to survive the Australian jungle, the series would be a "whole new ballgame".
The new series will see the celebrities compete against one another as they vie for the title of "I'm A Celebrity legend". In addition to the location change, there will be other differences to the OG show, with the public voting system scrapped and the challenges increasing in difficulty.
In the preview for the all stars series, the stars can be seen gagging and retching as they try to stomach the infamous eating trials that take place every series. At one point, pilot Carol lets out a petrifying screech with her eyes closed as she attempts to soldier through the gruesome morsel that has been put in front of her.
I'm A Celebrity is not the only reality TV or gameshow series Carol has starred in, having previously appeared in the celebrity edition of Gogglebox, Strictly Come Dancing, and The Great Stand Up to Cancer Bake Off. During the 2016 series of I'm A Celebrity, Carol lasted 19 days in the jungle and was the fifth star to be booted from camp.
