I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! viewers could be treated to the first feud of the series just days into it airing.
Pop icon Boy George has been getting frustrated with Charlene White and even dubbed her 'controlling' as she organised dinner for the group. During Tuesday nights episode, George took issue with the Loose Women presenter as she dished out instructions for those cooking dinners.
When it was time for dinner in camp, Coronation Street's Sue Cleaver read out details of their latest ingredients: “You have kangaroo sausages and lady fingers for dessert.” Bursting with ideas for their meal, Charlene, 42, said of the sausages: “Slice them small and stir fry them with the spring onions.”
Charlene's straight talking attitude didn't go unnoticed by campmate Scarlette Douglas as she told the Bush Telegraph Scarlette: “This camp, aka ‘Charlene’s kitchen’, you do what she says, when she says it, get it right.”
Later, Boy George issued the same sentiment in the Bush Telegraph said: “It’s so weird, that [food] bag comes down and Charlene just turns into an entirely different person. It’s amazing, she issues orders and tells everyone what to do. I’m like, ‘Wow’. You know, it’s like, ‘Who are you?’
He added: “Charlene she just issues orders. For me as an observer of my own feelings, it’s mind blowing.” After washing up, Scarlette walked back into camp and said to Boy George: “Didn’t fancy helping BG?”
Boy George said: “I just feel like Charlene’s very controlling. She tells you what to do and it really rubs you up the wrong way. I’m struggling with that, but I’ll get over it.
"It’s fine, she’s very sweet as well so it’s a real contradiction. There’s this controlling side and then there’s this caring side and it confuses me.”
Awkwardly, as he was speaking his mind Charlene walked in. This comes after he called the broadcaster “bossy”, for cooking the first dinner in camp as he wasn't impressed with the result.
George addressed Charlene about her camp control in the episode, as he told her: “It might be good to say to people, ‘Right you do this today.’ Otherwise I’m going to feel like I’m not doing anything.
“You’re very strong. Listen, you’re such a beautiful contradiction because you’re like tough, and then you’ve got this beautiful side to you. But it’s challenging for me. I have to say it’s challenging for me.”
George added to Charlene: “So Charlene, I don’t mind if you tell me what to do but give me some jobs if you’re going to be the boss.”
Charlene replied: “I’m not being the boss.” Boy George said: “You are being the boss baby.”
Viewers will just have to wait and see whether Charlene and Boy George will come to blows, but they aren't the only campmates with tension. Fans noticed some there may be brewing animosity between royal Mike Tindall and Hollyoaks star Owen Warner during Sunday night’s premiere.
While undertaking their first mini-trial, Sue, Mike, and Owen undertook the Critter Cruise challenge that entailed solving a difficult puzzle.
Owen, who treated fans to the first shower scene of the series during Monday’s episode, read out the number “1463” and proclaimed that Mike was born that year.
While there didn’t seem to be any hard feelings, fans on Twitter suggested that Mike, 44, may lose his patience with Owen in the coming weeks. One fan wrote: "Anyone else think it's only a matter of time before Mike Tindall puts Owen in his place? #ImACeleb."
A second wrote: "Mike Tindall watching Owen cry in the trial #ImACeleb." Another added: "Mike is going to end up absolutely *hating* Owen. You can see it already. #ImACeleb #ImACelebrity."
