I'm A Celebrity's Owen Warner overwhelmed by jungle success after struggling on 40p meals

Owen Warner was overwhelmed by his I'm A Celebrity success after a tough few years.

The Hollyoaks star ended up as runner up on the ITV show behind eventual winner Jill Scott, and as he returned to real life following his jungle stint, he admitted he was completely stunned by the reaction to him going on the show. Just last week, his mum had appeared on Good Morning Britain where she detailed how tough it had been for Owen before he bagged the Hollyoaks role.

Speaking to hosts Susanna Reid and Ed Balls on the ITV breakfast show today, Owen said: "It's all crazy. It all feels a bit of a blur; I still have to wrap my head around it. I'm not used to this.

"I'm getting used to the facT that other people have been watching the show. I'm telling people stories and they're like, 'oh I watched that.'"

Owen admitted he forgot he was being filmed at times - but he loved seeing people's reactions.

He noted that the Celebrity Cyclone was his favourite moment, as he added: "I'm struggling to get my head around the fact I've done a cyclone. I'm still focused on that and everyone after that - it's just more mad!"

Hollyoaks star Owen came second on I'm A Celebrity last night, as 12 million people voted. The public vote saw Jill Scott be crowned Queen of the Jungle. During his time on the show, Owen smashed most of his trials - but one, the Savage Sorting Office, left him feeling frustrated as he struggled with one specific part of the ITV jungle challenge.

On finding out he had made it to the final three out of 12 campmates, he shared excitedly in the Bush Telegraph: "I’m in the final baby! What is going on? I don’t know what to say, I don’t know what to think."

His final trial was an eating one called Bushtucker Bonanza. He faced a fermented duck egg which he described as “decent” and he also ate a camel’s testicle and the camel’s eye admitting, “That’s not as good.”

Following the meal, Owen said: "This is probably the most full I’ve felt in the jungle so far!" ahead of his luxury meal. For his meal, he chose a calamari starter, a quadruple stack beef burger with various cheese and bacon on top with chips. For dessert he asked for pizza-sized cookie dough with a treat of American-style pancakes, crispy bacon and maple syrup.

Owen had a sweet reunion with his mum during the show - but his brothers had also flown out to be there with him in a surprise reunion. They dressed as rangers before surprising him as he posed for photos after his exit. He couldn't believe it as he gleefully jumped on them and hugged them. The viral moment left fans feeling emotional as he reunited with his family.
