Royal husband, rugby player and I'm a Celebrity campmate Mike Tindall has shared a few tidbits about what it's like being part of the Royal Family, but mostly the ex-England outside centre has kept his cards very close to his chest when talking about his famous family.
That is until tonight's installment (November 24) when fellow campmate, Owen Warner asked Tindall, who is married to Princess Anne's daughter, Zara, if he'd spent much time at Buckingham Palace and what you had to wear to go down for breakfast.
After Jill and Seann finally won some treats for camp from Kiosk Kev - chocolate - Hollyoaks star Owen quizzed the sportsman on the royal residence, asking “Have you been to Buckingham Palace much?”
Mike replied: “More than most.” Owen carried on and asked: “What’s it like there?”
Mike said: “A lot of it’s all the state rooms and there’s only a little bit of living. Yeah [I’ve stayed there].”
Owen asked, perhaps what many viewers may have wondered at some point: “In the morning could you go down in your joggers and t-shirt, or did you have to get dressed up again?”
Mike said: “No, jeans and a tee.” Owen admitted: “I thought you had to be suited and booted!”
Owen then asked Mike if he minded chatting about his royal connections and he said he didn't, so Owen continued to press.
Owen asked: “When you first started chatting to Zara, how late in did you know she was royalty? Straight away?”
Mike replied: “Yeah, because I know she’s Princess Anne’s daughter. Princess Anne is patron of Scottish Rugby.”
Owen asked: “Did you feel a bit of pressure? If I was chatting to a girl and then found out she was royalty I’d be nervous.”
Mike said: “No because we were friends first and then William and Harry were massive England fans at the time, so we’d met them numerous times. Met more of the family than you’d normally have met of the woman you start dating.”
Elsewhere in the episode, the campmates were sad about Babatúndé Aleshe leaving with Seann saying: “I didn’t want to go today but I really did not want Baba to go. George was shocking! And Baba, again, what is going on?”
Seann told Babatúndé: “I’m gutted.” In the Bush Telegraph Matt said: “I’m really sad to see him go as I think he’s wonderful and I really, really enjoyed getting to know him. He’s been a good part of camp.”
Mike said: “I definitely am going to miss Baba. He added loads to the camp. He’s great to be around, infectious. A lovely man.”
Owen admitted: “I’m going to miss Baba so much. That’s my shower buddy, that’s my chill buddy. You took my Baba away. What’s going on? When I want some pick up I go to Baba. When I want some life advice I go to Baba. Baba is my go-to geezer and now he’s gone. Hurts that one.”
Owen told his fellow campmates: “That’s the worst one yet for me.”
