I'm A Celebrity's Mike Tindall details royal reaction to his ITV jungle stint

Mike Tindall has said he's expecting to get some "interesting gifts" from the royal family this year following his participation on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! 2022. The former professional rugby player became the first member of the royal family to ever take part in the show and placed fourth in the series that saw Lioness Jill Scott win.

After his exit, Mike was greeted by his wife Zara Tindall, who is the daughter of Princess Anne, and later spoke about his ITV stint on Good Morning Britain. During an interview appearance with runner-up Owen Warner, Mike was quizzed on the royal family's reaction to his time on the show.

GMB presenter Susanna Reid said: "Mike, there was a point on this programme when we were discussing whether you being in there might have embarrassed the royal family, I think we've all come to the conclusion that you've done them absolutely proud."

She then asked: "Princess Beatrice returned to social media after a year to say 'he is just the greatest' - do you know how many of the royal family watched and what they thought?"

"No, I don't right now but I'm sure I'll find out at some point," Mike responded, before adding: "Christmas is around the corner.

"Let's see if some interesting gifts come under the tree. There's some sense of humour kicking around in the family so I'll wait for some interesting gifts and see how many people were watching."

Susanna then asked:"Well the key thing is did Princess Anne watch when you were talking about your trousers splitting while dancing in front of her, do you know the answer to that yet?"

Laughing, Mike responded: "No, I don't think she was watching but I think Zara might have told her, I'm pretty sure it's probably etched into her memory banks for all the wrong reasons so I'll probably bashfully hide away from that one when I get home."

Mike placed fourth on I'm A Celebrity this year, after taking part in the famous Celebrity Cyclone challenge. The series saw former health secretary Matt Hancock come third, Owen come second and Jill get crowned the Queen of the Jungle. You can read more on this here.
