Matt Hancock could be rushed into the I'm a Celeb camp as early as Wednesday after Olivia Attwood's shock exit.
Olivia, 31, was advised by the show's medical team not to return to the camp, after she left for checks, leaving her heartbroken.
I'm A Celeb started on Sunday night, with the famous faces making their way to the camp and completing challenges, but the former health secretary was nowhere to be seen.
Mr Hancock, 44, is one of two contestants set to enter the jungle at a later date, although he could be making an entrance earlier than planned this week, thanks to Olivia's departure.
Comedian Seann Walsh is the other celeb reported to be entering later.
Mr Hancock is set for a grilling, no doubt, whenever he enters the jungle, but bosses of the show have insisted they didn't put him in the camp to be "divisive".
Executive producer Olly Nash said: "We’ve put in loads of politicians over the years.
"We also put in people who have had very very strong views about certain things and sometimes it plays out in camp and sometimes it doesn’t. It’s not a question of trying to divide camp, we have never been a deliberately divisive camp.
"It’s up to them to come into the camp and it’s up to them if they want to leave."
ITV have bent the usual rules of I'm A Celebrity to allow Mr Hancock to reply to emails and even go on Zoom meetings to help constituents whilst in isolation.
Other celebs in Australia lost their phones and any contact with the outside world after landing Down Under. Most had one or a couple of short calls home and then faced most the week alone before the series with just streaming services like Netflix and a home gym for company.
But sources close to Mr Hancock say he has been given a computer to respond to urgent emails but the use was monitored so he could not contact loved ones and it was only used for work.
The special treatment may shock some fans of the show, who would have expected him to get the same privileges of others, although this arrangement will help members of the public.
A senior show source told the Mirror: "Matt does not have his personal phone at all and any laptop access is for constituency and monitored Zoom work purposes only whilst in isolation. Matt does not have general internet access."
Show hosts Ant and Dec teased his appearance on the opening episode.
Ant said: "We've also got not one, but two late arrivals on the way. Fortunately, we've managed to keep their identities a complete secret. Nobody's got a clue who they are."
Dec pretended to look shocked and added: "You're gonna be so surprised guys. We'll be rolling out the welcome 'mat' for them very soon."
