I'm a Celebrity's Helen Flanagan 'really sad' as she 'knew it was game over'

Helen Flanagan has said she is "really sad" to have left the jungle following her departure on Wednesday's show.

The I'm a Celebrity campmate and former Coronation Street star shared a number of updates on Instagram as she ventured out for dinner and drinks with a friend on Sunday. Helen looked a million miles from how she does in the South African jungle, in pre-recorded episodes which are currently airing each weekday on ITV.

Taking to her Instagram stories on Thursday, Helen was seen sporting a homemade tiara which read: "Most Improved campmate." Showing it off to her one million followers Helen said: "I don't want to take it off, I think I might keep it on all day."

Sitting in a car she later said she was "so proud" of her tiara as it "is so me". Thanking fans for their lovely messages and speaking about her time in the jungle, the star added: "I've had the best time.

"I just had the best experience there, I'll never forget it. I just loved it so much. I'm really sad that I went out as well because I really wanted to stay, I wanted to try and stay as far as I could but honestly it was genuinely those keys, like I'm the worst."

The Coronation Street star went on to say she "knew it was game over" when she saw the challenge, adding: "I'm rubbish with stuff like that."

On Wednesday's episode of I'm a Celebrity South Africa, Helen was forced to leave the camp after failing to complete the challenge. The trial saw the remaining campmates battle it out to unlock themselves from a box filled with creepy crawlies.

But tensions increased when Helen Flanagan and Dean Gaffney found themselves in the bottom three. Despite their best efforts, the two were narrowly beaten meaning they were forced to leave the show, no longer making it to the final.

Fans were in "floods of tears" as they said the pair were "robbed", with some refusing to watch any further.
