I'm A Celebrity's Charlene White says stint was 'emotional' after being booted off

Charlene White has said her time on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! was 'emotional' after becoming the first campmate to be booted from the show.

She was voted out in tonight's eviction show and shared her thoughts on her time in the jungle. Earlier in the episode, the Loose Women host and ITV News presenter took part in a Bushtucker Trial alongside Boy George, in which she had to quit after getting just two stars.

Speaking about her time on the show and her eviction, the former campmate said: "It's been emotional, to use the ridiculous American saying, 'It's been a journey'."

She also told Ant and Dec about how she felt upon Matt Hancock's arrival in camp. She joked: "My money was him or Liz Truss, so I was surprised but also not surprised."

"I may have been in the jungle but I am still a journalist. I have to remain impartial but that was hard," she added, discussing her through questioning of the MP.

Charlene also revealed why she chose not to sleep in the RV alongside Matt, admitting that her role as a journalist steered her decision.

Speaking to Coronation Street star Sue Cleaver earlier in the episode, she said: “I'm an impartial journalist, I can't be sharing a room with a sitting MP because that just doesn't sit well with me impartiality wise. And I just think, if he were ever to become minister again how can I sit and question him about anything when I've shared a room with him?”

Sue agreed: “It's very, very tricky.”

Charlene and Matt were both favourites to leave the ITV reality series tonight while England Lioness Jill Scott is the bookies' clear favourite to be crowned Queen of the Jungle.

While Charlene the first campmate to be booted from the show, she was not the first to leave. Former Love Island star Olivia Attwood made a shock departure from the jungle just over a week ago due.

Olivia had to leave after "abnormal blood test results". Speaking to Holly and Phil on This Morning, she addressed the rumours that she left due to pregnancy.

Olivia said: "There were loads swirling around on the internet, "Olivia Attwood pregnant" was trending on Twitter - it's not that I can assure you. It's not that exciting I can promise you that. The results came back that my iron was low...I was showing that I was anaemic and basically all the markers you can look for were low.

There now remains 10 campmates in the jungle. Contestants be voted off until only one star remains and they are crowned Queen or King of the Jungle.
