I'm A Celebrity... star Charlene White has shared how she struck up a friendship with jungle co-star Sue Cleaver, who was secretly struggling with pain.
The Loose Women star became the first contestant to head home after being voted out off I’m A Celebrity.
And, while sharing her jungle experience, she has told how she became good friends with Sue Cleaver as the pair spent time together making meals for camp.
Although Charlene took the lead as the chef tending to the camp fire, she admits Sue had a real reason why she didn't get more involved.
She told The Express: "We kind of focused on getting through camp and getting through the experience and we were always very much there for each other.”
And she admitted that Sue was a driving force when it came to camp cooking.
She added:"There wasn't a meal that was cooked by us without Sue."
But due to mobility issues Sue was happy to play a supporting role in chef duties.
Charlene added: "Sue couldn't physically do the cooking because it was hurting her knees to bend over."
And since Charlene's exit, Sue has struggled further saying she'd 'hit a wall' as she broke down in tears out of sight of her fellow campmates.
Sue was given a reprieve from sleeping in the elements when her close confidante in the jungle, Mike Tindall, became new camp leader, choosing her as his deputy. The biggest perk of her promotion is that Sue gets to sleep in the RV.
But rather than make her spirits lifted it offered an opportunity for an emotional outpouring.
Confiding in Mike, she explained: "I’m just having a moment, that’s all. Just one of those mornings, I don’t want to do a trial, I don’t want to do a challenge, I don’t want to eat the s***. I don’t want to sleep with you."
Adding in the Bush Telegraph: "I should be really excited that no-one’s going home, I’m just feeling a little bit low. I’m homesick, I’m tired. I’ve hit a wall."
The Eileen Grimshaw actress previously came under criticism from viewers as she was exempt from the eating Bush Tucker trials.
Although nothing was mentioned by producers it has previously been made public that Sue has diabetes.
Curious social media users took to Twitter to canvass opinion as one asked: "Why isnt Sue Cleaver open for eating trial? She had all my votes."
While it hasn't been officially confirmed why the soap star has been spared from potentially being picked to face some Bushtucker Trials, many believe it may be related to the star's health.
Sue's Type 2 diabetes diagnosis first became public knowledge back in 2011, when the soap star received hospital treatment after collapsing on the set of Coronation Street.
Sue previously told Diabetes Advice: "Having a good control of diabetes is really important – after all, people with the condition live with it every day, taking care of their diet and physical activity."
