I'm A Celebrity's Carol Vorderman and Fatima Whitbread want to reunite in Thelma and Louise-style series

Fatima Whitbread has teased that she and Carol Vorderman could be up for an exciting on-screen reunion after becoming firm friends in I'm A Celebrity... South Africa. It's only been a few days since the spin-off series, which was filmed in 2022, drew to a close, but Olympic javelin thrower Fatima has already been discussing her and Carol's future.

During an appearance on ITV's Lorraine yesterday, Fatima, 62, opened up about how close the campmates had become in South Africa, as they competed to become the first ever I'm A Celebrity Legend. Fatima, who entered the I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! jungle back in 2011, revealed that she believes her friendship with Countdown whiz Carol, 62, will stand the test of time, WalesOnline reports.

"Me and Carol, we are besties," Fatima told Lorraine Kelly. "It was an amazing experience with Carol.

"Always up at 6 o'clock in the morning, training together and we sort of connected from the word 'go'. And to be honest Lorraine, Carol and I would ideally love to do a programme together - two girls, going around in campervans, raking on challenges at our age.

"I mean, who wouldn't want to do that?"

Lorraine added: "Women in their prime, doing amazing things! Thelma and Louise-ing all over the globe."

"This is the whole thing. We could do extreme challenges together. Girl power," Fatima said, as she high-fived the presenter.

It seemed that some viewers were keen to see Carol, who lives in Clifton, and Fatima reunited on their screens. On Twitter, Lauren Lloyd said: "#lorraine what a great way to wake up.

"Seeing Fatima Whitbread talking about being active and up for it at her age great inspiration! Would love to see @FatimaWh1tbread and @carolvorders touring, showing us all how to live and be happy x"

Janette Galbraith wrote: "Great interview & absolutely love your top Fatima - you really suit it! Well done on your South African adventure & hope to see you and @carolvorders taking on the world in the future!"

Whilst Carol and Fatima's friendship blossomed in camp, there was one campmate who Carol did not quite see eye to eye with. In a recent interview with The Mirror, Carol admitted that she found it difficult to form a connection with a "squawking" American supermodel Janice Dickinson, who she accused of "playing the reality TV game".

"I got on well with everyone except for Janice," she said. "I didn’t like Janice.

"She would sit on a bed and just basically screech all day and I don’t like that."

Carol thinks highly of her other campmates, though. Aside from Fatima, she also bonded with Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan, and already knew Jordan Banjo from her first time in the jungle back in 2016.
