I'm A Celebrity's Boy George posts defiant first reaction to I'm A 'contentious' exit

Boy George has posted a defiant first reaction to his rather 'contentious' I'm A Celebrity exit, as his elimination from the jungle came as a shock to many viewers at home, given who keeps surviving the chop. And the singer had a clear message for his critics, saying he's 'laughed heartily' at some of the things written about him.

It was predicted as soon as his name appeared on the confirmed line-up for the new series that Culture Club icon George would be one of the most outspoken and talked about stars on I'm A Celebrity this year and he definitely lived up to that billing. Forced to spend his first night on the show on a remote beach, after being chosen as a VIP (Very Isolated Person) by the public, it didn't take the singer long to take aim at some of his co-stars when he eventually entered the jungle.

Within just a few hours of being in camp, Boy George accused Charlene White of being a 'bossy boots' over how she handled the cooking and was then one of the most forthcoming and honest stars when it came to reacting to Matt Hancock 's entrance to the jungle A consistent accusation levelled at George by viewers during his time in I'm A Celeb was that he was 'too negative' and then on Saturday night he was branded 'toxic' due to a conversation he had with Seann Walsh about their co-stars, sneering at them for playing a game of What's The Time Mr Wolf in camp.

The Karma Chameleon legend was defended by hosts Ant and Dec against the viewers backlash but, after surviving he first three vote-offs, George got his marching orders from the present3ers at the end of Tuesday night's episode. And, while some of his predecessors have stayed away from social media for a while after their exits, he was quick to return to Twitter.

Juts after 4am UK time, George posted a picture of himself on his timeline and wrote: "Eating pizza and watching #FIFAWorldCup replay after a lovely long shower. Thanks for all the amazing messages. The love always transcends the negativity. This b*tch still gives great headline. I have seen them all and laughed heartily!"

Fuming on George's behalf at him going before the half way point in the eliminations, one unimpressed viewer tweeted: "Ever get the feeling it’s being rigged for Hancock to win," with another responding: "Sad to see Boy George go one of the most entertaining and REAL. About time Owen went - he may have muscles but missing a brain. Tedious sulks over food boring as hell. If Hancock wins will never watch this programme ever again."

Also annoyed at George going, a third posted: "I can’t believe you’re out and Hancock isn’t! You were superb."
