I'm A Celebrity's Boy George 'denied' return to UK by ITV bosses over contract obligations

Boy George has reportedly been 'denied' an early return home by I'm A Celebrity bosses, with the singer keen to go straight home, rather than stick around for the final.

There was visible shock in camp and online that music icon Boy George was voted out, before the half way point of eliminations, after he and Chris Moyles were the final two to find out their vote. The Culture Club legend didn't seem to disappointed at being told he was getting the boot from the jungle and it didn't take long for him to return to social media, with him posting a selfie of himself munching on some pizza as he delivered a clear message to his critics.

He posted: "Eating pizza and watching #FIFAWorldCup replay after a lovely long shower. Thanks for all the amazing messages. The love always transcends the negativity. This b*tch still gives great headline. I have seen them all and laughed heartily!"

Unlike the other stars who've been evicted from the new series of I'm A Celebrity, like Scarlette Douglas and Sue Cleaver, George hasn't done the interview circuit since his exit and is claimed to have asked to jump on a flight straight back to England, only for his request to be turned down by producers.

Sources close to Boy George told Mail Online: He wanted to go home immediately, he doesn't want to hang around. If he had his way he would be on a plane already but he wasn't allowed to do that."

The insider continued: "His aim of going into the jungle was for the world to see the stripped back version of him, no hair, makeup, costumes, or hats – he didn't actually care how far he went in the competition."

TGhe source claims that Boy George isn't 'bothered' about seeing any of his co-stars, which added to his frustrations at being made to stay Down Under. They added: "The fact he has to stay in Australia for days now is an annoyance to him, he isn't fussed about sticking around for the final but that's what he has to do."

At the time of writing, Jill Scott and Owen Warner were pretty much neck and neck in the odds to win, with some bookies going for England Lionesses hero Jill and others backing Hollyoaks actor Owen for the win.
