Boy George chokes as he tries to eat the food in his greatly anticipated first bushtucker trial - with arch enemy Matt Hancock. The trailer shows Boy George being served a plate of fermented plums that he struggles to eat.
The Culture Club singer gags as he tries to eat. Meanwhile Matt Hancock laughs uproariously at the horrific smell from the food.
Boy George almost walked out earlier in the week when Hancock came onto the jungle set. He was left in tears when he realised the ex-Health Secretary was on the show - and held him responsible for decisions made during the pandemic including when his mum was in hospital with Covid and he couldn’t got to see her.

Viewers were keen to see the potential flashpoint - as George has had a lot to say about Matt - and they were wondering if he would take the opportunity to tell him direct. In the clip, hosts Ant and Dec can be seen dancing to Mexican music as ITV crew members serve the TV duo various dishes. Boy George is served a plate of fermented plums that he struggles to keep down.
Sitting opposite, Matt Hancock can’t help but laugh as Boy George attempts to tuck into the smelly food, which he has to eat six pieces of. His eyes can be seen welling up with water as he bites into the fruit, telling viewers he feels like he’s being ‘poisoned’.
“It’s like perfume, tastes like I’m being poisoned,” he says. He then begins to retch and gag while fighting the urge to spit the gross food out in a bid to earn as many stars as possible in return for food to take back to camp. “That’s really disgusting,” he adds as the Tory MP watches on.
Hancock’s entry caused some ructions in camp with Mike Tindall branding his reasons for entering ‘b******t’ and others have also spoken of their concerns - mostly behind Matt’s back. I’m A Celebrity viewers are looking forward to the incident with Elly saying: “I’m glad Boy George is in the trial. The guy is unpleasant and a hypocrite. It’ll be interesting to see how he responds to doing the trial with Matt. He was revelling in Matt getting voted yesterday as he knew it was due to unpopularity and now he’s receiving the same .”
Sarah-Jane Weeks-Platt added: “So will boy George speak his mind to Hancock while they are going to do trial or will he just continue to b***h behind his back? #ImACeleb.”
Soph said: “Matt Hancock and Boy George doing a trial together !! ….This is going to be interesting #ImACelebrity #ImACeleb.” GLORIORIORIA added: “Boy George was the one who was most upset about Matt Hancock’s entrance into the jungle... and now they’ve both been chosen to do the bushtucker trial! Can you bear the tension? Can they? #imaceleb”
And @theronjolie wrote: "matt hancock and boy george doing a trial together on in a celeb was not on my 2022 bingo card, what level of societal collapse is this?"
