I'm A Celebrity: Matt Hancock to kick off jungle stint with 'secret mole' challenge

Matt Hancock will kick off his I'm A Celebrity adventure by trying to pull off being a secret mole in camp.

Hancock and Seann Walsh have been assigned the task by I'm A Celebrity bosses to try to win luxury items for camp.

A show source said: " Matt Hancock won't strike many people as a perfect person to play a spy and act different roles successfully. But that is the job he has found himself doing.

"The stakes are high for Seann and Matt, they need to do a variety of things in camp without being noticed or looking out of the ordinary. If they succeed the campmates will get their luxury items like pillows and photos of loved ones.

"Bosses think it will be hilarious watching Matt try to act up and pull this off."

The task is one of two things they were asked to do before heading into camp, the other being a bushtucker trial.

Ahead of them appearing on the show tonight, show host Declan Donnelly teased that the pair would be working hard.

Chatting on Instagram live, Dec said: "Listen here is a fun fact, they have already gone in there this morning.

"Not in camp but in the jungle. They are somewhere in there already and have been given a task. Obviously, they face a trial but they have been given something to do as well."

Before going in, MP Hancock said: "Politicians are people too and it will be nice for people to see me as me. We are human too.

“Lots of people have a view on me from being Health Secretary in the pandemic dealing with some very difficult issues, but that’s not the whole story. I am looking forward to throwing myself into it all like I do everything in life. You can’t hide anything in the jungle, you see somebody warts and all.”

The disgraced former Health Secretary and Seann Walsh were tasked with a Bushtucker Trial before making their way into the camp which will air on Wednesday [November 9].

Speaking about Matt's arrival, host Ant McPartlin told The Mirror: "It is great, it is very exciting. Someone said about Matt's smile at the end (looking odd on the show)...I know what they mean. I reckon there were a lot of people shouting at their telly.

"But yeah let's see what he is like. I don't know the man. I don't know anything about him but I am sure we are about to find out!"
