I'm A Celebrity... Matt Hancock's jungle exit 'already being planned by ITV bosses'

Former health secretary Matt Hancock is tipped to be the first contestant eliminated from this year's series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here, with show bosses already planning his eviction. Show insiders believe the first contestant to exit the jungle will be revealed on Friday, and the disgraced MP is the favourite to go.

ITV have extended the show's duration to 95 minutes, indicating there could be time for Ant and Dec to have a post-elimination interview with the first celebrity to leave camp. The most recent edition of I'm A Celebrity to take place in Australia (2019) saw its first eviction on the second Friday night episode of the series, and it looks as though this year's edition is to follow suit, reports The Mirror.

A TV source said: "Things can change quickly in camp, especially if someone was to quit, but at the moment we look all set for evictions to begin from Friday. Currently Charlene, Scarlette and Matt are the favourites to go with bookmakers. If there is a second eviction over the weekend it means there would be two chances for viewers to get Hancock out this week.#

"So much has been made of him wanting to look human and how he told the group in camp that he wants our forgiveness. We will find out soon if some people forgive him AND if they are willing to vote to save him and keep his jungle journey going."

While some have boycotted the show because of Hancock's involvement, others have opted to make his time in the jungle an eventful one by voting for him to take part in as many Bushtucker Trials as possible. The MP has taken part in six consecutive trials, including all five that the public have had a vote on.

ITV I'm A Celebrity continues tomorrow night at 9pm on ITV.
