I'm A Celebrity legends who rejected, are missing or were banned from All Stars line-up

For the first time ever, I'm A Celebrity is heading to South Africa for an All Stars version - and the line-up has got a lot of people talking. Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly have confirmed they are filming the special series, which will hit our screens next year, and will feature a lot of surprises.

We do now know that 15 stars from previous series will be heading back to the jungle for more Bushtucker trials, Dingo Dollar challenges and some questionable meals, although the format will be different to Australia and anything is possible. Show bosses have chosen the best of the best to compete in the spin-off series - but fans have pointed out that a number of legends are missing.

Set to take part are a number of soap stars, including EastEnders favourite Joe Swash, former Corrie actress Helen Flanagan, cobbles legend Andrew Whyment and Robbie Jackson actor Dean Gaffney.

There are obviously a load of sporting heroes too, such as British boxing hero Amir Khan, Olympian Fatima Whitbread and ex-cricketer and A Question Of Sport captain Phil Tufnell.

Bringing a bit of glam to the jungle will be American model Janice Dickinson, singer/presenter Myleene Klass, Made in Chelsea's Georgia 'Toff' Toffolo and national treasure Carol Vorderman.

Princess Diana's former butler Paul Burrell has also signed up, along with Happy Mondays frontman Shaun Ryder, Diversity dancer Jordan Banjo and the mighty Gillian McKeith.

It's an impressive cast, but some viewers have pointed out that their favourites aren't taking part, so here is a look at some of the big names haven't made the All Stars line-up:

Gemma Collins

For someone who only lasted three days in the jungle, Gemma Collins made a very big impression on I'm A Celebrity in 2014.

Before she even got into camp, Gemma had a meltdown in the helicopter and became convinced that she had got malaria.

The GC has since admitted she wasn't ready to be on the show and said if she went back again she would have "got a lot more experience".

IAC fans are begging for the former TOWIE star to return - but she recently revealed she has not received any offers to appear on the spin-off show.

"I haven't heard about it," she told The Sun. "I just don't feel that I need to go to extremes anymore on TV for people's entertainment."

Joey Essex

Joey was a jungle favourite (ITV/REX)

TOWIE legend Joey Essex would be one of the first on many people's lists for an All Star version.

Joey finished fourth in the 2013 series, where he showed he wasn't very good at telling the time and his general knowledge wasn't the best.

But he got a connection with model Amy Willerton and the pair started dating once they were back in the UK.

Joey is clearly a fan of the format as he appeared in the Australian edition of I'm A Celeb at the start of this year, entering as a camp intruder in the second episode.

Despite reportedly being the highest paid celebrity to join the series Down Under, he was the first celeb to be booted out by the public.

Katie Price

Katie won't be back for the All-Stars version (ITV / Rex Features)

Back when she was better known as Jordan, the world was properly introduced to Katie Price for the first time in the 2004 IAC series.

We witnessed her fall in love with singer Peter Andre, with the pair getting frisky in hammocks, canoodling by the camp fire and were seemingly spotted cavorting under a canvas by infrared cameras.

Katie was eliminated from the competition in 5th place and the pair went on to marry and have two kids together, Junior and Princess Andre, but their relationship ultimately ended in divorce.

Katie went back into the jungle in 2009, where she was voted for every trial, but walked out after just nine days.

Alongside a screenshotted article about the highly-anticipated All Stars show, Kate wrote: "Yes get me in."

However, her image is reportedly "not suitable" for the show and she won't be asked to participate as ITV "can't be seen to endorse her".

A source told The Sun: "There is no doubt that Katie makes great TV and was one of the standouts on I'm A Celeb over the years, but she is too much of a liability for the show to cast her in the All-Stars version.

"Ultimately this show has a very broad audience and a lot of younger viewers, and right now, she isn't a suitable contestant for a family show.

"Of course this may change in the future when there has been some distance from all the legal dramas, but as it stands currently, ITV don't think it would be appropriate - even though they know she would deliver ratings gold."

Peter Andre

Peter Andre has been dining out on I'm A Celeb memories since he was a contestant in 2004 (ITV)

If Peter Andre had never gone on I'm A Celebrity, then two major things would never have happened.

First and most importantly is that his single 'Insania', which he came up with while he was in the jungle, would never have been released.

The second is that he wouldn't have fallen in love with Katie Price - with their blossoming relationship keeping fans glued to their screens.

Peter came third during the third series in 2004, but has vowed to never go back into the jungle as a contestant.

Revealing he rejected a huge pay check to entice him back, Peter said he would only return as a host.

"No I wouldn't but I would definitely preset it...as in, I know Ant and Dec present it but you the spin off they do," he told The Sun. "Now those I would love to present but no I wouldn't go back in the jungle.

"I wouldn't go back because I have already - when Fatima Whitbread was in there in 2011 I went back as she was talking about me but I went in for a day and that was it.

"I mean, how many times do you do the same thing? I wouldn't if it is one of the best shows on TV. I think people be like 'mate get over it. You've done it too many times.'"

Lady C

One person that would definitely have got us all tuning in is Lady Colin Campbell, otherwise known as Lady C.

Any highlights reel of dramatic jungle moments and explosive camp fights will heavily feature the outspoken socialite, who clashed with almost everyone in the 2015 series.

Lady C's biggest enemies in camp were Dragons' Den star Tony Hadley and Spandau Ballet's Tony Hadley, who she labelled 'bullies'.

"You are so full of s*** that if you ever took an enema you would disappear off the face of the earth without trace," was one of her stinging lines.

She also said: "You arch-hypocrite, a chippy oik with the brains of a pea and the mouth of diarrhoea."

Lady C decided to leave the camp after 17 days - and viewers were hoping she would be back for the All Stars series.

Mark Wright

Mark Wright has confirmed he has not been asked to appear on All Stars (ITV)

Just months after that tearful goodbye on The Only Way is Essex, Mark Wright was back on our screens on I'm A Celebrity.

The reality TV star struck up a bromance with McFly singer Dougie Poynter, who he ended up finishing runner-up to in 2011.

Mark managed to go from a TOWIE love rat to a much-loved sweetheart in just a few weeks - and it's where his career really took off.

He won't be flashing his abs in the jungle once again - and he previously called the experience the most boring thing he's ever done.

Mark Wright has confirmed he has not been asked to join the cast of All Stars on Heart FM, saying: "It’s great that I’ve not been asked, cheers guys, that means I was not the best.

He went on: "Trust me, these guys are going back in there, they are brave to do it, because it is not easy, what’s you see when you’re watching it on tele the question I get asked from everybody ‘Is it really like that? Do you really suffer with boredom, are you really hungry, honestly?’

"Trust me, trust me, you’re starving, you’re bored, you miss your family, the trials are tough, the insects, you get two pairs of pants and that’s it and you have to wash them in the pond with a bar of soap, you wash in a pond that’s freezing cold.

"I could go on, trust me it’s tough but it’s also an incredible experience, so good luck to everyone that’s been asked back for that!"

Stacey Solomon

With husband Joe Swash going to South Africa, many IAC fans were convinced that Stacey Solomon would be joining him.

The Loose Women panellist won the 2010 series, the year after she was on The X Factor, and transformed herself into a national treasure.

One of her most hilarious moments was throwing a rock at comedian Dom Joly's face - and she also hosted spin-off show Extra Camp in 2016 alongside her future husband.

Sadly, Stacey won't be in the All-Stars series and has been left alone with her and Joe's kids, Rex, three, and Rose, almost one, while he is in South Africa.

She shared her frustration that his flight home had been cancelled and she'd had to reschedule work.

Stacey wrote: "Still cant get hold of Joe. I think his cases have gone and he has stayed so I'm assuming he's run out of battery. Who knows when he will be back."

Joe Pasquale

Comedian Joe Pasquale competed in the 2004 series of I'm A Celeb and was crowned King of the Jungle.

The funnyman was the first celeb ever to earn full stars in a Bushtucker Trial, after climbing out of an airborne helicopter and collecting stars as he walked down a ladder.

Joe has frequently spoken about his time in camp but hit out at the show for becoming 'too easy' for the contestants.

"To me it seems easier – for a start, they’ve got hot water," he said on This Morning in 2020.

"We had no hot water at all. Janet Street-Porter moaning to me about doing washing up in cold water. Where’s the hot water, Janet? We're in the jungle!"

Kerry Katona

Kerry was a massive hit in the jungle back in 2004 and ended up winning the series.

The former Atomic Kitten singer struck up a friendship with Katie Price and walked out with the crown and a lucrative sponsorship deal with Iceland.

The Queen of the Jungle had previously spoken about wanting to return for the show's 20th anniversary, but unfortunately she had to decline an invite to the All-Stars version.

"Kerry met with ITV bosses to discuss the opportunity but made the difficult decision to pass on it," a source told The Sun.

"She is so grateful for her time in the jungle and loves the show, but couldn't make it work as she had already committed to another TV show."

A representative for the TV star added: "Kerry did have meetings to take part in I'm A Celebrity All Stars but due to other filming commitments, she was unable to take part."

Jimmy Bullard

Former Premier League footballer Jimmy Bullard was the star of the series back in 2019.

He will forever be remembered for his line during a trial where he had to stay in a box for a period of time while critters rained down.

After completing it, Jimmy shouted: "Yes, knew I could do it, get me out of this s*** hole!"

The midfielder struck up a close friendship with eventual winner Carl Fogarty and singer Jake Quickenden during his short time in the jungle.

In one of the biggest shocks in the show's history, Jimmy was the first to be booted out of camp, much to the surprise of the rest of the celebs and many viewers at home.

Going back for the All Stars series would have given him a chance at redemption.
