I'm A Celebrity first look as Matt Hancock dunked in tank of water during challenge

It comes as no surprise to many that Matt Hancock has been voted to face a Bushtucker Trial in I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! The former health secretary will be facing the Tentacles of Terror on Thursday, November 10 to try to win stars for the camp.

In a preview clip, Matt can be seen holding his breath and submerging himself in water as he attempts to earn stars. Trapped in a cage-like contraption Matt is also joined by underwater beasts, including crabs, lizards and other sea creatures.

Every time Matt gets a star the cage is lowered further into the water, meaning his space where he comes up for air gets smaller and smaller and presenters Ant and Dec look on as he gasps for air.

Matt entered the I'm A Celebrity jungle on Wednesday, November 9, alongside comedian Seann Walsh, and was met with a hostile reaction from his fellow campmates. Journalist and Loose Women panellist Charlene White questioned why he had entered the jungle and Royal family member Mike Tindall said all he heard was "bulls**t, bulls**t, bulls**t" when Matt was talking.

Pop star Boy George has even threatened to quit the series after Matt's entrance. He told the cameras: "I don't really know what to do with my feelings, obviously today was quite an emotional one for me. I don't know what it's going to be like, I actually don't know if I want to be here."

Boy George spoke about how his mum was admitted to hospital during the coronavirus pandemic when Matt was health secretary before he was forced to resign after breaking his own social distancing rules by having an affair with his aide. Boy George said: "If I had lost my mum, I would go. And I feel a little bit selfish, you know, just kind of… everyone’s so nice to him and I was like Jesus, what are we gonna do?"
