I'm A Celebrity fans tickled over Ant McPartlin's 'sassy' reply to Corrie's Sue Cleaver

I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here! fans found Ant McPartlin's reaction to Corrie's Sue Cleaver's complaint as hilarious as she took a cameo role in a Bushtucker trail.

The Elileen Grimshaw actress, 59, was chosen to be former health secretary Matt Hancock and Hollyoaks actor Owen Warner's 'phone a friend' in the jungle reality show's Who Wants To Be A Millionaire-inspired trial.

But Sue complained as she was tasked with helping the pair answer if Coronation Street or The Beatle's first single. She quipped: "Oh, please don't humiliate me on TV."

But show host Ant retorted bluntly: "Well, don't come on I'm A Celebrity then Sue!" Fans of the ITV programme were in stitches at his brutal response.

One Twitter fan repeated the exchange with laughing and applause emojis. "Sue- 'Don’t humiliate me on live TV!' Ant- 'well don’t come on I’m a Celebrity!'"

Another added: "Well don’t come on I’m a Celebrity then Sue' ANT GETTING FIESTY."

A third added: "The sass from Ant and Dec this trial is killing me."

A fourth chimed in: "Anthony McPartlin was no chill with the 'don't come on I'm A Celebrity then' to Sue Cleaver."

Sue promptly got drenched in green gunge while she sat on the phone – but managed to get the question correct!

As she was gunged Owen demanded: "Leave Sue alone!"

But others labelled her brief cameo in the game Who Wants To Look Silly On Air? as a brilliant taster for her doing a full trial after seeing Matt voted to do the majority so far.

A further viewer added: "Voting for Sue tonight as I want to see her do a full trial."

But fans have also probed as to whether Sue can compete in food trials as she was exempt from the recent public vote.

Fans questioned what the 'mystery patch' on Sue's arm (ITV)

ITV has not officially confirmed the reason why Sue is exempt but one eagle-eyed fan sparked speculation a patch she is wearing is to monitor diabetes.

Sue was treated for Type 2 Diabetes after she collapsed on the set of Coronation Street in 2011.

Sue previously told Diabetes Advice: "Having a good control of diabetes is really important - after all, people with the condition live with it every day, taking care of their diet and physical activity."
