I'm A Celebrity fans furious with Chris Moyles as he is accused of 'bullying' Matt Hancock

It's no secret that the former Health Secretary Matt Hancock was going to face a difficult time when he entered the I'm A Celebrity jungle.

However, on the latest episode of the show, Matt opened up about his time as a minister during the pandemic and how he was in the show for "forgiveness".

Viewers were left annoyed with Leeds-born radio DJ Chris Moyles after they claimed he was "bullying" Matt Hancock. As the campmates sat around the fire, Chris turned to Matt and asked: "What’s the plan, come out of here, write a book?”

Matt then explained he had already finished a book called the "Pandemic Diaries" and claimed it tells the story that needs to be told, The Express reports.

Matt Hancock was criticised during his tenure for flouting his own lockdown rules, when it was discovered he had an affair with one of his staff, leading to the breakdown of his marriage. Chris quizzed Matt on the fine he assumed he faced during lockdown, to which Matt fiercely defended and said he didn't receive it as no law was broken.

Charlene White jumped in: "You were socialising with someone outside of your household," but Matt assured her: “I didn’t break any laws.

"Guidance is different. Guidance is guidance. But the problem was it was my guidance. That’s why… it was a mistake because I fell in love with somebody.”

Charlene went on to explain how her aunt died from Covid in the first wave and she couldn't get to the hospital to visit.

She explained: "I get that you fell in love, I understand all of those things, but sorry for a lot of families like mine doesn’t really cut it.”

Matt replied: “Yeah. Well, there you go. That’s one of the reasons that I regret it as much as I do. Do you know what it is actually, what I’m really looking for is a bit of forgiveness, that’s what I’m really looking for.”

He turned to Charlene looking as if he was about to break down before the pair embraced in a long hug.

However, not convinced by his tears, Chris said in the Bush Telegraph: “Honestly, the way I feel now is he’s pulled the mask slightly off his chin a little bit but I still think he’s not telling us the full truth.”

Shocked by the openness of what Matt has said, Charlene also said in the Telegraph: "Well, you could have blown me down with a feather, that was not what I was expecting at all.

"It is a very human reaction when you can see that someone is getting upset to give them a hug.”.

Feeling unsure about what was said, Chris said to Scarlette Douglas: “It was the last thing he said, ‘I think I’m here for forgiveness’.

"Then, I wanted to go, ‘Forgiveness for what Matt? What are you sorry for? Are you sorry for being caught? Are you sorry for having an affair? Are you sorry for making bad decisions? Are you sorry for lying?'

"What? What? If you’re going to be real, be real. I’m trying to be as real as I can and when I think he’s not being real it’s bugging me and I don’t know why.

"We’ve all made mistakes and you put your hands up and you’re honest. If you’re at that point where you genuinely feel that bad, you go, I’m sorry and you take it, I’m sorry.

"He’s trying to portray that he’s being totally honest and it’s eating away at me.”

Scarlette said: “We have to just take him at face value in here. Outside of here, probably not going to be friends with you, but in here we’ll work together as a team.”

Chris added: “It’s a real struggle.”

Fans were not happy with Chris' remarks, viewers took to Twitter to express their opinion on what Chris had said.

@SBmarketing1999 commented: "Jesus christ Charlene and Chris annoy me. Leave the bloke alone #ImACeleb."

@__jodie__ added: "Chris hun you’re saying a lot behind his back, maybe say it to his face next time x #ImACeleb."

@chingey4evaxx fumed: "#ImACeleb Chris is a t*t, man up and tell him 2 his face, u was all talking about it u had ur chance to have it out with him, yet p*ss of to the toilets to b***h, what is it high school."

@fredxnx expressed: "The way Scarlett and Chris were talking about Matt was disgusting. Give the man a chance. #ImACeleb."

However, some were in support of what Chris was saying about Matt's speech, with @notrowenaa claiming: "Chris Moyles is right, he’s not giving us the full truth. This was his time. #ImACeleb." (sic)

@Chloe_Bowsx agreed: "People calling Chris out for talking about Matt, he is literally saying what everyone else is thinking! The pandemic still effects people to this day so back off." (sic)
